Would have loved stand-alone Fly releases, only for the Cronenberg one. Something tells me if it’s only available in a boxset that it isn’t gonna be much different from the Fox Blu.

Ugh. Looks like Fly Collection is a box set. Only want '86 Fly. The rest are rubbish. Unless it is a 4k remaster I will pass

Nice selection! Was not expecting Pet Sematary II and Body Parts, but the million dollar question is if Paramount allow other labels to do their own scans on titles they released on DVD themselves, or will they be stuck with janky HD masters?

I imagine the '58 Fly in the Fly set will have the 4k master that's been making the rounds on TCM. Wonder what the Anne Bancroft collection consists of? I know SF is aware the Wizard and Twins are in dire need of new scans in order to sell, as Uni's current HD masters are jaw-droppingly abysmal.

Also, no The Terminator despite the constant rumors of them having it. Possible they're saving it for later, but I also noticed there weren't any other MGM titles announced. This could mean MGM ended their relationship with SF and another label has The Terminator, or SF didn't finalize the upcoming MGM deal yet if it hasn't happened already.

I hope Big Trouble gets a new scan. It’ll be 2 discs so it’ll obviously be stacked...seems Dracula is the only one that got any sort of new transfer mentioned, but I’m sure others will as well.

And I do like seeing “Rigid Slipcase” and “individual cases” for the Fly set!

I guess I'll have to look into Warner Archive to release the Guyver films. That's the most disappointing aspect for me, it seems the deal with Warner is done for now.

The Paramount deal is exciting. I wonder if they can release any of the Olive titles or only the movies out of print/unreleased on Blu-ray.

Fox created a 4k master for Big Trouble not long ago and was used on some streaming/HDTV prints and the 2018 Italian https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Big-T...lu-ray/222099/ and French https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Big-T...lu-ray/211308/ BDs. Possibly, but KLI mentioned it was a ravenous bidding war for that and Robocop and Arrow only managed to get the latter. Otherwise, they would've hinted at it in some form of postcards by now.


If SF indeed doesn't have it, I suspect ether Criterion, MVD, or Olive to have it. Any label that gets it will probably be aware of the color issues and likely won't be able to do a new transfer, as the current 4k master was overseen by Cameron and probably wouldn't approve a new one. I suspect that whoever gets it will attempt to include the original mono and it's INT/2.1 mix variants.

Without having laid eyes on those myself, I had asked about the French version and someone replied saying despite the claim of it being a new transfer it looked worse than the fox and arrow Blu. but i look forward to this release! They’ll obviously use the best transfer available if it’s not a brand new one.
