Or alternatively, say you could take the dust cover off Q-Z to make them match, would you pay $10 extra per volume Q-Z with the dust covers if your plan was to take them off anyway?

I don't mind not having the slipcover but also not paying extra for it if I'm gonna put it in a drawer

In a free market condition price not set by scalpers, an auction for a used bundle of Dead Pit and Point Doom just sold for $70

Also, with all the negativity here , there was actually a kind person, Brian on eBay sold a brand new copy of Dead Pit for $35 + 5 shipping.

Good ol' Brian. Maybe he could take over for Dark Force? He's probably open longer hours.

I feel for you, man. At this point, it's painfully obvious Dark Force doesn't care about the fans, it's all about making a quick buck. I mean, making money is the goal of every business, but they should know who they are catering to... this model wil come to bite them in the ass in the long run.

Yeah, I bought Dead Pit at that ridiculous price since it was a Code Red title I've wanted for a while. The glow in the dark slip had nothing to do with it. I feel a bit foolish paying that much, especially since a standard edition is coming along, but I wanted the movie sooner than not. I sure as hell won't be paying that much again for any other title DemonTom tries to peddle, unless it's The Farmer or Iced, then I would cave in again. Yeti?? Good luck with that LOL

Respectfully they were not 3D sculpted emboss with UV gloss that glow in the dark. Go try and see how easy it is to do that.

Could not agree with you more Ruined. Extremely well put. Anyone see any huge lines to get into the local library? Lots of booklets in there too. lol

Then later stalked my house every day until I finally gave him an advance cut of it on DVD. I have a story about that that people would not believe.
The fact that their titles are widely available (competition) and aren't hard to get makes them cheaper.

His statement is not accurate. It would be the equivalent of saying, “Dark Force or Vinegar Syndrome stopped including slipcovers with releases after the first pressing because no one cared about them.”

If you can’t defend the latter than the former is equally indefensible.

There is even a thread on criterionforum.org dedicated to the struggle of acquiring booklets with the releases, demonstrating demand.

From the outset newer releases will factor in booklets as limited edition runs with follow on editions without booklets. From our research it looks as though only the select few read or care about these booklets

Exactly. While no one ever went broke selling out of product, DF turning away serious fans means turning away repeat customers, which anybody will tell you is just as important in business.

They're acting like the meth dealers who sell rat poison. Sure you make that quick buck today, but tomorrow's dollars just ****ing died on you. Stupid as **** IMO, and yes I am one of the dead customers. It was bad enough when Code Red site's did this shit, never thought I'd see a clone of that.

I can respect this response. Its disappointing as I do love the booklets and revisit them everytime I re-watch a film, but I can respect your logic on this. Now if only your product was easier to purchase.

Perfect response. Great reason for both. Now just stop the super expensive to make over hype, and keep that limit of 2 moving forward.

Perhaps you could get a picture frame for it? Maybe find space on your walls, it is a work of art after all!?
