OT: Happy that I just saved $66 by cancelling my hotel reservation from Hotwire and rebooking the exact same room and hotel at Priceline for a better price. Bam.

wondering why my att.net email account can't receive any emails.

i've tried sending one from my gmail account (and really old hotmail account), using both chrome and firefox; and each time it bounces back saying it can't be delivered because the address is either not found or is unable to receive mail. yet i can log into my att.net account and email with that username, just fine.

Wondering if I'm going to make it through the show tonight, I've been tired all damn day. The kiddo is looking forward on going and I don't want to let her down, but damn I can only drink so much coffee and Monster before it becomes ineffective.

There's apparently an issue with Gmail right now.

it's not gmail, as far as i know. i can't receive email on my att.net account from ANYWHERE. i even tried my old hotmail account, and it bounced it back.

that said, what's the issue(s) with gmail right now? i haven't had any problems with it regarding anything else.

Not entire sure as I don't use it, but I just overheard a fellow co-worker flipping out about not being able to access her Gmail account.

well i've never been able to not access mine (except when chrome was messing up and i had to re-install).

Losing my mind. I interviewed for a position on July 11th, which I thought went well. I was told then to wait ten days for an answer either way. Here we are... nothing yet. I hate waiting in general, but this is too long to hear back regarding an opportunity. Gut wrenching! I emailed the HR rep last Friday to see if had any update, which I received an automatic response that he was out of the office until today. I'm hoping the "no news is good news" I guess but that's a long wait for anyone...

I injured my ankle pretty bad a couple of weeks ago crossing the street. Now I'm paranoid every time I walk and mostly look down to see what I'm stepping on. But I've discovered one positive thing - looking down at the pavement is actually better than looking at the opposite sex and being totally ignored

The ankle injury apparently was pretty serious because my left foot looked like a block of ham for about a week. Never went to the ER because I was scheduled to hop onto a plane in a few hours. All of that because of an ankle twist? I hope there's no permanent damage

My brother turned his ankle I think back in April and still hasn't fully recovered, I believe. Guy didn't really take it easy and even ran my last marathon with me. Oh well, his choice. Hope your situation turns out better than his.

Thanks. I'm nearly 100% back to normal, with just a tiny bit of residual pain if I cross my legs a certain way when I sit. My ankle still looks a little swollen from a certain angle but, seemingly, nothing was broken or torn. I've twisted my ankle before but it was never this bad. Holy smokes.

I don’t know. Never been given a specific time of when to hear back. Usually you don’t hear from HR in regards to hired or not within the first 48 hours after your interview. Unless it’s a really high-profile position that needs lengthy time to review.

Finally spoke to the HR guy. Pretty much said the job is mine and they are finalizing the details and numbers. Holy!

i had that happen once. at the end, i was told they had one more person to interview but that i was pretty much gonna be the person they hire.

until that other interview....

hated when i'd get my hopes only to be let down. that's why i don't get my hopes up, anymore. if they're never up, they can never be let down.

i've applied to 3 other position at my current job. got interviewed for 2, nothing on the third. i think it's because i haven't been there long enough. i'm not new, but i haven't been there as long as the ones who got the other positions.

edit: forgot to tell you CONGRATS, Biz. i hope you do get the job and it's a good one that you like.
