I think Kino would have expected to restore the show themselves, much as they would with most other TV they'd acquire (they had to restore quite a few films in the current deal).

There are definitely some good deals. Some things cost more than the more frequent sales but the large amount of titles on sale will make an order easy.

My understanding is that the titles previously released by Mill Creek and the Kino reissues share the same masters. No need to commission new scans, so the extras package (if any) is really the only incentive to upgrade. I've picked up a few of those former Mill Creek titles but my reasons are mostly cosmetic as I prefer Kino's choice of artwork over MC's.

Do titles ever sell out in this sale like Criterion?

I want to do a quick watch of the Man With No Name Trilogy before I blind buy.

I wish "The Landlord" and "Lost Highway" were a little cheaper, but a lot of other stuff is cheaper than I expected, so it all balances out.

Minor gripe, but I wish the KL site's Cart/Wish List entries were a link back to the release in question...

There're lots of titles I put on there out of curiosity or for reasons I've forgotten (e.g. "Hey, Richard Brooks wrote that one!") or to keep around as order filler if I need one last title to get over the shipping limit. It'd be nice to be able to just click the image and get back to the info page to jog my memory.

This website is a NIGHTMARE. They need an option besides infinite scroll. The furthest I've been able to get is the letter O, but whenever the site refreshes it sends you back to A.

Terrible.

Yeah I think that design decision is what is killing the performance of their web server. They should have it like they've had in the past with the sale broken up into multiple pages for easy browsing. I was only able to get to the letter D before the infinite scroll stopped working.

But why is it crashing? Physical Media is apparently dead so there can't be that many people trying to buy discs can there?

The KLStudioClassics shopping website is horrible, even when it is working. I wish there were a way to sort by production year or release date or anything. I also loathe the infinite scrolling UI rather than having multiple pages. I made the mistake of clicking on the listing for the Ida Lupino box to get more info, and when I went back it started me back at the top of the list. This is probably why their website is on its knees right now. Instead of each click generating a finite data set, it creates a stream. A lot of streams when you have a lot of shoppers, like during a sale.

I'll check back later when things calm down.

I haven't kept up with this thread. Has there been some development with EASY LIVING? I preordered it from B&N and my order was cancelled (they said they had no stock) and I noticed that the listing is kinda gone from Amazon and out of stock on the Kino site. Was the title postponed or cancelled?
