I had a film instructor who tried to convince me of the same thing. I never got it. OTOH, that was decades ago. So, another couple passes at it these days certainly couldn't hurt.

Not sure what the opinion is of MOON 44, but dude... never seen this before and was shocked at how much I enjoyed it. Schlocky, visually derivative of Alien/s, but a then enthusiastic Hollywood wannabe Emmerich goes for the gusto doing all he can to make low budget look big. This is very enjoyable early Emmerich that deserves more than obscurity.

You shouldn't feel bad. I haven't watched it, but if it made you laugh it did its job. Some of my favorite comedies were fairly despised when they were released...

I've always thought The Fifth Element is a dumb movie with dumb characters.

Lucy is a good movie, though.

I'm not much into action films, but it's a good one, and it has a good message with it. I also like this type of sci-fi film. When I think of Lucy, Transcendence comes to mind. I like that one ok enough, but Lucy wins where it fails. I honestly don't understand the ridicule it gets.

Everybody goes crazy for Grier and Forster, and they are excellent, but I have to give it up to my man:

I love all the beach house scenes. Heck, all my favorite parts have either De Niro, Jackson, or Fonda in them.
