- New interview with Michael Biehn on The Fan

- Fox won't allow new transfer on The Fly (Cronenberg). Two studios who he won't name (Sony and Fox) who won't allow them to make new transfers.

- 'Tried' to get Sam Neill for The Omen, but a lot of new interviews nonetheless

- 'We know what fans want' with regard to My Bloody Valentine. 2 cuts, 2 discs. They're going to 'do their best' to present the uncut version as best as possible, citing their work on Silent Night Deadly Night by way of comparison. Working with George Mihalka.

- Interviews with Talia Shire and Robert Foxworth on Prophecy

- All of November's titles have been revealed. There might be one or two surprises in December, but they're not from the Paramount deal. Next time they announce something big will likely be Halloween (so I imagine more Paramount titles). This would potentially be for February or beyond.

- They don't have Blue Steel

- Can't get into Lionsgate still.

- Likely will not have a path to Fright Night Part 2 or Dawn of the Dead. Also mentions Blood Beach as a title with complex rights issues (suggests Cliff might have an idea though).

- The Blob will be a very stacked release
The most crucial information for me. Many thanks!

I wish someone had asked about the Kolchak tv series...Kino said that Universal wouldnt let them have that though they had already released the two movies. So either Universal is going to release it or someone else has tabs on it. Seeing as the movies sold well seems like a no brainer.

Glad they are doing more Hammer, I know a lot of people don't care about them but I love them, and also for those who don't like them we are getting closer to having them all and then they won't be taking up spots for other stuff anymore.

After Dr. Jekyll and Sister Hyde getting announced, hoping for the rest of the Christopher Lee horror stuff (To the Devil a Daughter, Rasputin the Mad Monk and The Curse of Frankenstein) although COF is unlikely as I don't think they have a current deal with Warner anymore.

I may also skip this set. Wasn't genuinely interested in the older films and without a new master for Fly '86 this is suddenly not as attractive.

Thanks BarnDoor for the Summary!

This information about Hammer makes me very excited. I had never seen a single Hammer Film until a few months ago, but now I'm addicted, having watched about 12 of them in a month. I'll definitely be buying anything they release!

The real question is why hasn’t SF released it already.

No clue. Maybe Universal won't let them go. They should have been out before the first one.

I’ll throw my two cents in as well regarding there being no new transfer for Cronenberg’s Fly. That’s kind of massively disappointing, as the existing, rickety old transfer looks terrible. Why wouldn’t Fox allow a new scan? Especially when someone else would be footing the bill?

It seems Fox has very little to no interest in remastering their films and when they do, they don't release them. They'll do the occasional theatrical re-release but when it comes to home video, fuhgeddaboutit. The original Planet of the Apes, the original Omen all got new scans in recent times and only the Omen is seeing the light of day for the upcoming Shout set. It's bizarre to say the least.

Jazzed for the Universal Horror set that will finally allow me to sell all of my DVD sets.

Is there still a shot for a standalone RUE MORGUE before Halloween?

Well, lucky for us, Disney is heavily invested in home video.

No chance I'm afraid. Earliest we'll see that one now is December, but more likely next year.

I know there's always a lot of requests for Deadly Friend, and I would have been right there before but I'd be perfectly happy if WAC releases this themselves.

Too bad no one can get through to Lionsgate because there are some real good titles they're sitting on. Need another Paramount situation I guess.

I gotta say I'm glad I don't have to double dip on The Fly especially with buying that set. I've always been pleased with the current transfer anyway.

That is unfortunate, and ultimately...

Yeah... I have little to no interest in the older films and was primarily interested in this for Part II. Sadly it looks like I may still need to import this though I'll wait to see the price on the set before making my final decision. Either way, this moved from a must own to a.... "possibly one day" purchase.

That aside, what are folks thoughts on the "'steel yourself for 2020" comments? Literally the only thing I could think of when I read that was that a new Friday the 13th collection is coming with all films included since the previous "Steel"book release had them that way and the two warner films have yet to show back up. Any one have any other takes on this phrase? I'm having a hard time connecting it to anything in regards to April Fools Day or Tales from the Darkside the Movie. The Terminator seems plausible as well, though that would be INCREDIBLY disappointing If that was what the hint was for.
