Arrow releasing new BDs of this, Sixteen Candles, and Weird Science from 4K scans surely means Universal has them and will do 4K... hopefully.

And as said above will more than likely mess them up with filtering.

Universal is doing great lately. There's always a chance, but maybe they figured it out...

As much as I want to see this on 4K, I don’t care so much for Posters/Lobby cards etc, I would much prefer a standard ‘Steel’, I’ll probably still get mind, can always sell-on if/when a ‘Steel’ becomes available.

I am saving loads of lobby cards from various films and I will put them on s display with LED backlighting in my lobby.

Would've been awesome if Arrow could've restored the bum's death scene that Landis foolishly cut out.

dunno why they bother with another blu ray release . why not upgrade to 4k now . release the same box set with the same content and include the blu ray . I think I've already triple dipped on this already . how is a 4k scan going to be better than a 6k scan .

WHAT? Arrow will add the original mono and trailers? NICE!!!!

Well, the mono isn't that exciting for me anymore, since I got it from the LaserDisc. But it's still cool to see an official release with it

Because Arrow can't release a UHD of this film and by licensing it to them Universal can make easy money on a release that they themselves have already released twice AND can still release a UHD of themselves whenever they feel it would be profitable for them in the future.

I also feel very confident when I say that any potential UHD release of this film from Universal in the future will provide very little in the way of it being a better product than what Arrow is releasing. For all intents and purposes I believe this will be the definitive edition of the film and if/when a UHD does eventually show up it will still pale in comparison to what will be included here.

Everything about this release is just awesome! Cannot wait to get this pre-ordered and added to the collection.

Had the original uni release but sold it for the full moon edition but cancelled my pre-order after reading the reviews. Even if Universal pulls another Waterworld and releases it on 4k...this release is still worth it for the packaging and features alone.

I'll still buy it on 4k though. Super stoked for this release! Worth it to pre-order through Diabolik? Never ordered from them before. I assume Amazon will have it up soon though.

If the footage is gone for good, I’d settle for production stills. At least we can see what it looked like.

I doubt this would beat a 4k release as. though the flip side it could look worse because will be more prominent on 4k . however the hdr and extra detail will make it a worthy buy .. il probably end up getting it as I'm a super fan though I'd be more stoked about a potential true 4k release
