Is Paramount going to play ball and allow new scans to be made or will Shout be stuck with old masters? That's what I'd like to know. I sure as heck would like to start seeing specifications for some of these. Unless I'm misremembering, in past years Shout had announced some specs for new titles just a couple days after the Con.

As we've learned re: Collector's Editions: it's only a slipcover and new art that makes it one! There are plenty of stacked releases that didn't get the CE treatment.

I haven't had the time to go back through 4 or so days worth of pages of posts but...

In the Shock Waves chat, was that a joke about "also need to get a POSSESSION interview while I'm there.."??? I'd assume that would have been edited out if it was an actual slip.

One of the co-hosts, Elric Kane, is an enormous Possession fan. They joke about him mentioning it almost every week in some fashion. He was just joking about wanting to talk to Sam Neil about it since he's in one of Shout's upcoming titles.

A new blu of Possession just released a few months ago, right?

Makes sense. I don't normally listen to this pod.

And yeah, AFTER my post I remembered that it DOES have a US blu release out there.

It was pretty dang pricey if I remember correctly, I don't think that did it any favors for spreading it's popularity!

Nope! I ordered an R2 copy that has (as far as I could tell) the same special features in a more basic case for....13? after shipping Vs the high prices I was seeing for the 2 or 3 US editions.

In the Shock Waves podcast, they indicated that there were only two studios that won't allow them to do new transfers (which others here have identified as Sony and Fox). Based on that, I assume they can do new transfers for Paramount films.

Shout Factory finds more and more ways to be as extremely wasteful as possible regarding their packaging. I couldn't believe the packaging for the 12 blu-rays that came to me today.

I wonder if you contacted Shout and asked them not to send you the limited poster when placing a preorder if they would do it? I don't want them and I would rather they go to someone who does.

What I'm really curious about is if Shout! was able to get films from Paramount that are not horror. That's where a lot of the good stuff is at.

Still, the biggest Paramount film I'm looking out for is the Dead Zone. That seems like a title Shout! would go after right away.

I'm sure you'd have no problem finding someone on this board that would take them off your hands. Hell I'd take them for the cost of shipping but I have little doubt that you'd be able to sell them for more than that.

Pretty in Pink would make a decent Shout Select title. Absolute joke that that film hasn’t been ever been released on Blu-ray.

Yeah, I've only ever gotten like 12-15 bucks for them.

It's one I'm very much anticipating and looking forward to. Hopefully it's one they can get their hands on.

My copy of Humanoids From the Deep steelbook is out for delivery. I hope it survived the journey in an Amazon envelope at least 95% intact

EDIT: Sure enough, the steelbook is bent in one corner. It's going back

Me too, me too. My #1 most wanted title (from any label, but preferably Shout, Arrow, or Criterion).

I was watching a Youtube video of an Amazon warehouse operation and even the choice of packaging type is automated. They have "packers" who do the actual stuffing of shipping material and labeling but a computer picks the container type. It makes sense, actually. Sometimes I'll order something small and it'll arrive in a huge box. Leave it to robots to make decisions
