Probably for China, which is a huge market for the franchise. But to just advertise and then pull 3D showings in the US is so annoying, I get 3D hasn’t doing great business in the last few years, but I’m sure they could have had limited 3D showtimes (like many releases do now) and gotten people to go to those.

Endgame did better, while still a lower 3D share than any previous Avengers movie. But I believe Captain Marvel was the same as Ant-Man and the Wasp with just 17% of its US opening weekend coming from 3D (still was a packed screening when I went opening Friday with a good number of 3D showings, but was somewhat limited 3D showings at many theaters and 2D only in IMAX).
