just trying to survive this shitty Monday. My brother text me on my way to work, to let me know our father fell again last night. He's got a early stage of Alzheimer's, so it likely won't be long before we have to put him in a nursing home. I stopped to make sure he was alright before work and promised I'd stop after work as well. I also have to stop at home depot and our rental house and of course my wife just sent me a grocery list lol so much to do and little time to do them.

I'm looking into Steelbook Protective Slipcovers.

I'm not so concerned with my steelbook shelf as I am with the steelbooks in the main collection in heavy rotation.

They seem reasonable on ebay.

I bought some on eBay and they're great. I wouldn't collect Steelbooks without them. I worry that they would get scratched up on the bottom from being slid in and out.

Had my ride along today. Texted my wife I wasn’t sure it was a good fit. The kid I rode with was great though and a hard worker. Fast forward and I’m meeting the branch manager and I think he’s considering me for a different position that actually sounds better than the one I originally applied for. So we will see if this progresses or I was just feeling the breeze up my kilt

I was really glad this day got knocked out though. I started feeling like shit as the day drug on. I went out and ate lunch afterwards and it wasn’t they good. So I came home and took a shower. Now I’m thinking I might lie down.

Sorry to hear that you didn't think the job you rode along on was fitting for you. Something will come up, I'm sure of it The Donster! I have a interview with the transportation manager at FedEx on Friday, he assures me it IS a Driver position as to not waste his nor my time. No lie, I'm looking forward to a career change. For starters the hub is only ~10min from our house (vs the 150miles!), the job itself is less physical than what I'm doing now, and of course the fact that I'd start at 6:30am vs 3:30am is simply icing on the cake! It is a salaried position making slightly less than I do now, and the manager did say there was some required OT and possible travel to support other hubs but hey, IDC, right now half my paycheck is going to gas for my commutes so I'd already coming out ahead

O/T: Just got home from work, visited my parents, stopped to change the freaking light bulb at our rental property, and did some grocery shopping. I'm beat, I'm ready for bed. But first, a late b'day present from the wife/kid: a genuine leather carrying case for my camping stove.It even has designated pockets for the propane canisters. So nice and gonna love not having to stuff the stove in the box it came in or worse let it bounce around in the back of the Jeep/truck.

Good luck Mike and thanks to both sk33tr and you. I’m still not convinced it is a fit or worth the mileage, but appreciate the support I just woke up from a much needed nap. Feel rested, but wondering if I’m on my own for dinner. The Mrs took The Boy to see The Lion King and is still gone. Dishwasher and is unloaded and I think I’ll play a little Xbox before they get here.
