Sony screwed over SM3, and TASM2 wasn't a huge hit to continue the franchise, although the worldwide gross was solid.

The budget for TASM 2 was $250M+ though. That doesn't make it much profitable.

Oh you won't be getting standalone films, I can assure you of that. Lots of tie-ins to Venom and all of the other upcoming solo villain films.

I've learn to let go of the old spider man films, Homecoming to me was the perfect spider man film and I say that as a fan of basically every spider man movie aside from Spider Man 3

That's what I'm saying. Hopefully Jon Watts, Tom Holland, and the rest of the cast can at least give us one more, even if only under Sony.
