i watched a flick called ruin me on shudder last night.

the plot:

Quote:
Alexandra reluctantly tags along for Slasher Sleepout, an extreme event that is part camping trip, part haunted house, and part escape room. But when the fun turns deadly, Alex has to play the game if she wants to make it out alive.
there's a scene where everyone is sitting around a campfire, and they're all asked what their favorite horror movie is. the obnoxious and unlikable goth kid among them says, "chaos," and he's immediately ridiculed by the rest of the party.

i found this very amusing.

Pretty bad?

Blu looks a little better, DVD was not to bad to begin with.
Why is fabrication so essential to the DF business model I wonder?

Oh man, the world needs The Killing of Satan on blu!

I don't think we're supposed to post fake quotes here.... Now, if you add the missing "..." at the end of what you claimed as my confusion, that might fix it. As to the DVD itself, I did actually think it looked pretty bad. Was I alone on that? Right from the poorly framed credits, I understood why it was placed on a multi-pack. It was a collection of films that wouldn't warrant individual DVD releases. That's one of the things I love about Bill, he takes the crappy transfers and combines them at a reasonable price, rather than selling them as stand-alone releases and risking the reputation of his brand. A stand-alone Code Red, even a DVD, will measure up.

When it comes to the DVD vs Blu on PFT, haven't we all already accepted that it is an old HD scan (possibly so old it was conducted in 720), from a degraded source, with extensive correction to get an otherwise terrible transfer looking as good as it possibly can, which is to say, not as bad as it looked before, but nowhere near what any of us expected, nor anywhere near as good as an up-res/over-sharpened VHS-conversion of Jailbait Unrated?

Can't we just forgive and move on?

I tend to doubt they'll be scanning that other source and releasing an alternate version, so why are we still arguing over it? It sucks that there was a significant screw-up with the marketing on this, making it seem like a limited collector's edition, pristine transfer and limited slip and all you would expect from a collector's edition, when it was a standard Drive-In series release with a $20 slip added for no particular reason. Dark Force already announced Drive-In #7 is a standard Drive-In series release, no $20 glow-cover. They learned this lesson. I vote we forgive and move on.

Now, if they do it again....

Have they said anything about their source for the transfer for Ator? I know with MMI they had the perfect negative. What about The Banker?

As I said before, it isn't confusing when a limited-slip-edition is reserved for perfection, like when VS and CR save their lesser-transfers for combo packs and advertise them as lesser-transfers. When any random transfer can be inducted into a label's limited/collector's line, how is anyone supposed to know what they are getting?

I have no idea what they have for Ator or The Banker. Hopefully original negatives.

The main issue with the KILLING OF SATAN print is that is has Spanish hard-subs. Yes, you can get those digitally removed these days, but that's an expensive process.

Mirror Mirror 1, 2, and 4 are on Amazon Prime Video. I never got around to watching them and they are probably full screen with bad picture quality. Still better than blind buying though.

Ruffalo is in the second one, which was his feature film debut.

I like the first one a lot. A fun Carrie/Heathers rip off. The first sequel (with Ruffallo) is wacky...not very good but it at least tried. Part 3 is a horrible sub-Cinemax soft core piece of nonsense. 4 was a very slight improvement.

Trolls welcome... sounds like they're ready for you, Jope.

I wonder what wonderful, highly-collectible, glowie-paper-thingies will be mentioned tonight?
Or will the Demon be a tease and just talk about his upscaled releases?

Though these are fascinating events, I'll wait for the Reader's Digest recap.

EDIT: Also someone might want to mention to him that his store is down again.

If the Slipcover for Mirror Mirror doesn't come with an actual mirror finish on the mirror portion of the mirror, I'm prepared to riot.

Mirror.

Flexing is like the sun rising, it happens at least once a day.

I wanna see new hair colors, that would be enchanting.
