I hope Fincher is not out of bounds. We haven't had a Panic Room blu release over here and I've been wanting one to complete my collection. Same as Following and Insomnia from Nolan

Walkabout is a Universal title in the UK? It is a Janus Films title in the US and Criterion has done a new 4K restoration that screened during this year's AMIA The Reel Thing in Los Angeles. (It seems to be a flagship title for Criterion, an early DVD [1998] and was one of the announcement titles for Blu-ray [even though it took two years from that announcement for it to get released.] If Bill Hunt is correct and Criterion announces they are doing UHDs, it wouldn't surprise me if Walkabout is on the list.)

Walkabout is a criterion title I've wanted to import on blu for a long time. Just waiting for a good price on a copy.

I suppose StudioCanal just released Don't Look Now on UHD, so naturally the next Roeg film to release on the format would be Walkabout. Not that it would benefit me - I don't have the capabilities for UHD and don't plan to for the next few years at the very least. Still, hopefully Criterion would re-release it on regular Blu-ray too in the UK (so we got some extras).

Weren't there rumours Criterion were prepping Panic Room after Twilight Time lost it?

Sony will probably be upping their back catalogue releases with the PS5 on the horizon.

Warner are now starting to do their top classics, limited tat set. Surprised we haven't had a Gone With The Wind anniversary announcement yet.

Oh should maybe get an announcement about Ben Hur soon.

Got me thinking what other 'big' Universal titles they might get next. Would love to see them try these:

Carlito's Way
The Blues Brothers
Out of Sight
Walkabout
The Breakfast Club
Scarface
Uncle Buck
The Frighteners
Two Mules for Sister Sara
Clockers

And once again, a mini Coen Brothers set would be incredible (e.g. Barton Fink, The Hudsucker Proxy, The Man Who Wasn't There).

PS: I'm assuming any Spielberg or Fincher would be out of bounds for anyone but Criterion, but I'd like to be proven wrong (ditto Scorsese for the most part).
Out of that list I can't see them acquiring the bottom two (and Two Mules... in particular), and surely they won't bother with Scarface now, given the 4K UHD is being released in a couple of months. The rest all seem very plausible though, especially Carlito's Way, Blues Brothers and The Frighteners (perhaps Criterion have the UK rights for The Breakfast Club tied up?). I'd also add these, providing Universal are willing to play ball (and providing a US label hasn't beat Arrow to the punch, as I think some of these would be conditional on whether they could get them for both territories):

American Graffiti
Animal House
Hard Target
(please Arrow, this above all if you can get the 116-minute cut in good quality)
Dune
Tremors
Mallrats
Jaws 2-4
Child's Play 2+3
(and beyond?)
Cape Fear (possibly the original also)

In addition, there are a few notable Universal titles in the US for which they might be able to get the rights:

Silent Running
Fast Times at Ridgemont High
Smokey and the Bandit
Flash Gordon
Conan the Barbarian
Conan the Destroyer
The Last Starfighter
Legend

Is it Lionsgate that still hold the rights to The Wraith? It would be the perfect title for Arrow to release.

Still with Lionsgate yes. I'd say I'm amazed they haven't released it in the Vestron Video line yet, but given the way that line has gone since mid-2018 (i.e. barely anywhere, with no immediate sign of it changing any time soon) it's not really that surprising unfortunately.

Silent Running was released on blu by Eureka , unless their rights have now lapsed.

Flash Gordon would be a great title for Arrow to do an edition of, but I better read "Brand new 4k Restoration from the OCN" as the first bullet point on that press release.

Universal has already licensed out Fast Times at Ridgemont High to Fabulous Films here in the UK.

I'd add Eastern Promises (David Cronenberg) as a title Arrow would likely target from Universal.

Also...US only release of Dellamorte Dellamore.

Have Arrow officially commented why they will not release any 4K UHD discs?

Robocop would have been a great opportunity to give fans the ultimate edition of this film. I’ve got a feeling Arrow could be stockpiling additional content for future 4K UHD releases, once they’ve made their money and exhausted the bluray editions.

I see no reason Arrow couldn't licence Spielberg's Duel - it's available on Hollywood Classics. Of course, if they couldn't include the original TV cut / multiple aspect ratios then they may not want to.

A proper multiple cut version would be wonderful. I moved my Spielberg movies over to iTunes but I’ve kept the Duel DVD because the iTunes version only has the one cut (and the wrong one in my mind!) so I’d happily upgrade that.

While we're on the subject of Arrow Video wishlist releases...

Does anyone think Arrow managed to squeeze in a licence for Cronenberg's The Fly before Disney pulled down the shutters on Fox acquisitions?

I'm thinking if Arrow (or similar) don't announce it before the end of the year I'll have to get the Fox release before it goes OOP
