Just got back from seeing this and my god, it was like seeing the movie for the 1st time.
The dolby theater truly enhanced the experience. And just seeing this again in theaters 20 years later!! (I was in 9th grade when it came out originally) Showings at my local AMC seem to be doing pretty well, the 7pm was almost sold out and the 10pm was nearly full with the exception of front rows. Apologies if there is a thread for this, i searched and saw nothing. |

It was pretty awesome to finally see it on the big screen, and the Dolby Cinema presentation was pretty amazing. The Matrix is such a great film, and has endless replayability. I mean, I literally could finish watching it, and be ready to watch it again.

From what I recall these don't qualify for AMC Prime and that may be a dealbreaker for many since the price of admission is around what an entire month's membership costs. And a lot of folks may never know it's coming and/or forget about it. The vast majority of these retro screenings I also never notice or just barely miss them. I'd probably go to most of them, but it's really just something that I tend to forget about with everything else going on.

Yeah, Fathom events (such as Lawrence of Arabia which I’m seeing at Regal tomorrow) don’t qualify as I believe Fathom has a unique deal when they book auditoriums where they pay a flat fee for special event rental and then get 100% of the ticket sales, but all classic showings done by AMC themselves have qualified. For instance I’ve seen 2001, The Dark Knight, Iron Man, Apocalypse Now IMAX re-releases all with A List.

Here's the previous thread for this topic:
https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...ght=the+matrix I saw it last night and it was great. I'm going back for a second viewing. You could really tell it was shot on film. Had a nice textured look to it. |

Also, AMC Prime qualifies for A-List members.
I recently discovered the format which I never heard before when I visited a new AMC theater this past Friday to watch the Director's Cut of Midsommar. I want to see what's the difference between Prime and Dolby Cinema. |

The seats in Prime are superior to Dolby Cinema as far as the rumble goes. Audio-wise, they're both using Atmos. Dolby Cinema just has the bigger screen, and Dolby Vision. As filmbuff said, it's also much more likely to have 3D, which is extremely rare for Dolby Cinema
