Casual me is looking forward to this a lot. Have they mentioned the launch price yet? $60, is probably a safe bet, huh?

Too bad it's been delayed, but at least not by too much.

And it looks great so far! Crafting, placing furniture outside, and paving roads!

Looks great so far to me. Delay is fine by me as my gaming schedule is packed this fall/winter. Though there's a ton coming next spring now too. AC is pretty easy to fit in as it's a great 30-60 minute a day type of game. With New Leaf I often did 30 minutes while having my morning coffee instead of browsing forums. I'll likely do the same here when it's out.

The delay was to help mitigate crunch.

In an interview, Bowser revealed that Nintendo firmly believes in not bringing a game to market until it's ready. And rather than rushing the game out the door, they can delay Animal Crossing to get it right without burdening developers. "It's really important that we have that balance in our world. It's actually something we're proud of.”

True. I’ve been looking forward to an Animal Crossing on Switch, since the Switch was first revealed in 2016.

Same here,it's seems a long time since "New Leaf" came out,and if I am being honest I much prefer the console versions, and in that aspect t's been even longer since "City Folk" was released,we were never going to get an Animal Crossing outing on the Wii U,although they did the Animal crossing themed Home screen thingy which gave us a glimpse of the Animals in HD,but from the E3 trailer things are looking much better.

I feel like Nintendo insulted the Animal Crossing fans with Amiibo Festival.

True, but they were never going to release a full Animal crossing game on the Wii U with it's 13 million or so users, much better to wait and release the game on the Switch where it has the potential to be the best selling game in the series.

The Nintendo Direct presentation didn't really tell us anything new, but it was still my favorite part of the presentation. Really can't wait for this one. I really love the somewhat 'soft' look of the game.

There’s an Animal Crossing themed pastel Nintendo Switch coming to Japan. A video with closeups plays in the background here.

Is there a western release of this? The colors remind me of robin eggs (the Easter candy).

I did see this preorder item for the US release.

Nintendo tweeted about the US version right after I posted, info here: https://animal-crossing.com/new-horizons/

Those joycons are looking nice. I'd like the blue if it were released separately.

Haven't played an AC game since the DS. I mildly swore them off, for being time sinks and not a "real game". I'm glad to say that I didn't hold that opinion for long. I still don't like the daily chores of weed picking, unless that's changed since the DS-era. But I'm a fan of tropical islands and crafting elements in game always seems to entice me. So I'll probably pick this up, but I might wait to hear some reviews on it.

Pre-ordered this from Gamestop with the credit that I had on my account from awhile ago. One of my kids is super excited for this as she has played the heck out of the 3DS one.

Yes, it looks amazing. The level of customization looks insane, and it seems to have so many quality of life improvements to make things more streamlined. I am so hyped!

Did you know that on the NCL website this game is listed as a "communication" game, and on the NOA website this game is listed as a "sim" game.

Went ahead and preordered this. Loved New Leaf and there looks to be a lot of great additions to this from the Direct with being able to terraform your island etc.

I opted to put it on my Switch Lite as I doubt I'd play it much on the TV as it's best as a few minutes here and there kind of game on a portable IMO.

I was surprised it preloaded already with release not until March 20. Now I have the icon tormenting me.

When I played AC on the Gamecube, I averaged 3 hours per game session.
