^^ Not really sure what "family friendly" even means anymore... as some "families" have no problem with their kids watching someone decapitated with a blunt object but if they show a girl's breasts, they lose their mind.

KonoSuba will be coming eventually. It’s a Crunchyroll property, so it could go to any distributor. I’m hoping for Discotek, but it’ll probably be someone bigger. I think it will get a NA release announced in 2020 for certain (if not earlier), but it’s probably not going to pop up in a month or two for pre-order. I hope it does, but it probably won’t.

Personally hope it is Funi over Viz but that is just me. I don't have much faith in either of them but Funi is a little better if that is even possible haha.

Worth noting this necessary movie still remains unlicensed. This trend of ignoring movies or taking forever to get them is very annoying, especially if you need them to understand a new season of a TV series. Ex: Free! (the movies are necessary for S3), Psycho-Pass (they're going to be necessary for S3 that airs soon and FUNi is STILL ignoring them)
https://myanimelist.net/anime/24655/...ayuri_Judgment Also FUNi is still ignoring Heaven's Lost Property: Final which adapts the rest of the manga (though it's rushed as hell as it's only 50 or so minutes, and to think that was originally announced as S3...). |

I really don't get why it's been such a problem this decade. And it's not just a FUNimation problem. It took Sentai Filmworks a while to get Tamako Love Story and the Chu2koi movies. Then Aniplex USA completely ignored the Mushishi movie (not too surprising as they didn't even release the show-what people should complain about instead of prices for the 9,000th time) and the Star Driver movie (they're still streaming the series but never rescued the show which has been OOP since Bandai Ent. left us). The Sound! Euphonium compilation movies are also being ignored by Ponycan USA and Eleven Arts.

It's unfortunate that Germany gets some gorgeous package releases for some shows and yet not English friendly.
I can fully understand why, as in why should they spend the additional coin for subs or dubs if the market doesn't make it financially viable? I bring this up here simply because I see they have all three seasons of Date A Live in lovely slipped Steelbooks and I have the coin, so would purchase. Alas, I've ordered the SAVE ed from Amazon of S-1 so depending on my affection for the shows, maybe I'm dodging a bullet, heh. ![]() |
