The Kurosawa Samurai, Carl Dreyer and Herzog sets are all must haves for me, but of course it comes down to personal tastes. The Preminger noir set is also very nice, though only one of the three films stood out as great to me.

It does seems pretty random as to which stores have what in the offer, Manchester has the Pasolini set which I haven't seen elsewhere.

I forgot about the Carl Theodor Dreyer set - well worth getting if you haven’t yet, the Woodfall set too.

Agreed, HMV MK had very few big box-sets part of the offer, not even the noir set was part of it.

All BFI were stickered locally. They didn't have everything but I definitely saw a Noir boxset on the display.

Maybe not all stock has been stickered yet in some stores?

Possibly, it was there just not stickered with the offer. In fact, there was no display showcasing the offer IIRC, just a collectors edition display.

Is the 2nd Jarman set in the offer? I was thinking of getting it with the Woodfall set since I saw that was in the offer in Fopp.

I enquired about The Caretaker but it wasn't in stock, and also Mr Topaze which also wasn't. They're going to order them into store for me though!

I picked up these four for £29.98:

Might have gone for Bergman: A Year in the Life but it was £29.99, and same for Heat and Dust which was £19.99. I think Maurice was the same price as the latter but I already bought that from HMV recently for £9.99, so annoyingly I could've waited and got Heat and Dust with it. Oh well...

Seems to be a bit random what is and isn't in the offer - I saw on Twitter that How I Won the War was in the BOGOF but it wasn't in my store I don't think. I also didn't notice any copies of the following which I would've got: The Blood of Hussain, Napoleon, J'Accuse, Three Films by Ken Loach, Film/Notfilm, Minute Bodies: The Intimate World of F. Percy, Blue Black Permanent, Red White and Zero and The Phantom of the Opera. I think I only saw one of the Chaplin sets too (can't remember which one exactly).
I would have paired People On Sunday with The Caretaker. However I was told they couldn't order in The Caretaker. Strange that it's sold in other HMVs and Fopp and you can order it in yours no problem. I'll try again next time I'm in town.

So..what box sets have you guys seen that’s part of the offer? Curious since the MK store was a let down in that regard.

Yeah, those were my two most wanted but I just got Shakespeare Wallah instead of The Caretaker for the time being (curious to see it). Remembered seeing Mr Topaze in one of the Fopp photos on Twitter so asked about that too. Didn't ask about any of the others I wanted but I might next time (The Blood of Hussain, Ken Loach, Napoleon, J'Accuse).

Was told neither were apparently in the offer on the system, but last time I was told that it did show up in the offer (I asked to get The Prisoner ordered in as part of the Arrow Academy BOGOF, and despite not showing as BOGOF on the system it was when they printed off the sticker).

Anyway, very happy about People On Sunday as it's something I've wanted to see for years and I very nearly bought it in the 2 for £25 when it was first released. Been stung by a few Arrow purchases over the last six months - i.e. buying on release only for them to be on sale a month later - so this feels like a minor reward after a previous gripe.

Blood of Hussain and Film/Not Film were £20 in Fopp, which meant I passed for now. The Ken Loach box was in the offer but was £30 (I managed to get it for £13-ish on ebay a few months back). There were no copies of Minute Bodies or Phantom of the Opera that I could see, I only spotted the 3-Disc digipack of Napoleon which was marked as £30. J'Accuse and Red White and Zero were both in the offer at £15 but Blue Black Permanent was not in the offer at all.

I managed to pick up a good mixture of stuff released in the last year (Orphee, La Belle et La Bete, The Comfort of Strangers, Distant Voices, Still Lives) plus a number of older releases I hadn't gotten round to picking up that looked interesting (Riddles of the Sphinx, Cria Cuervos)

Thanks so much for replying with this much detail! I can now figure out which of those I might bother asking to order into store - I'm tempted to get The Blood of Hussain with either Film/Notfilm or Heat and Dust for £9.99 each, but will pass on the Ken Loach set from HMV as it's £12-ish on eBay right now. Napoleon sounds like a good price (are you sure it's the long-OOP digipack though, not the slipcover reissue?) so I might be tempted by that too, if I can figure out something to go with it (maybe the Bergman documentary).

Good choices for your own purchases - I already had Cria Cuervos from ages ago and stupidly bought Orphée on release only for it to be £7-8 not long ago (at Base.com). I already have La Belle et la Bete too and got both The Comfort of Strangers and Distant Voices, Still Lives fairly recently for a similar price to this offer. I don't have Riddles of the Sphinx but might be tempted by it if I saw a copy available.

Kurosawas samurai collection, Werner Herzog box, Dreyer box, Preminger Noir set, Rosellini War, Rosellini & ingrid bergman, Robbe Grillet box, ken loach box. Maybe a couple more i’ve missed, its a very comprehensive offer.

You're right about Napoleon, I might have got the slipcover confused (plus the fact it was marked up at £30 given I'm fairly sure I saw the slipcover version for around £20 not so long ago...). Let me know if there's anything else you're after and if I can remember the prices I'll let you know, otherwise I should be back in on Wednesday so can double check.

Annoyingly my La Belle et la Bete disc appears to be from the dodgy first pressing so I've had to email the BFI to see if they're still running their replacement scheme

Typically, in Bristol, the layout was confusing and while the BFI section had almost no boxes there was a separate display downstairs with most of those listed elsewhere included. They did have a copy of Jarmen vol 2 in the BFI section but not included in the offer

Boo! Can't be a proper BFI promotion if they exclude box sets.
