Someone who actually has the discs has now confirmed the black levels are captured properly in those caps shortly after I posted that, and I'll take their word for it. You've been proven to be right even if I find your trust in caps misplaced, so that brings me to what on earth your point is....
I deleted those because I didn't want to have all that crap in there for other people to read. I thought you were on the same page since you did minutes after I did. So I don't want to do this again either, so why even bring it up?! Everyone's entitled to make mistakes in my view, it's all learning, but do you need to feel all superior, snowflake? You don't come here to share your knowledge, you use it to clout people with for your own emotional benefit.

I trust certain aspects of caps from people who have proven to either be semi-competent (capsaholic, their highlight mapping is shite but the blacks are usually spot on) or all the way competent (andreasy969, best darned 4K capper in the West). Maybe I shouldn't have taken caps from rando forums members as gospel, more fool me given what I just said, but unless people are doing something very, very wrong then the black floor should not be unduly affected by the conversion.
Of course I deleted those other comments, otherwise it looked I was just clouting myself. I do enough of that at home, no need to have it on public display as well
