Oh God, now I want to do another marathon. I must hold off until the 4Ks land... I must...
World's End has a much more complex character in Gary than either of Pegg's other two characters. In fact he's said it was his favorite character he's played. The comedy scenes have such fast paced dialogue that there's a lot of subtle jokes I missed my first two times watching. The ending gets funnier each time I watch it.

Only seen TWE the once, I didn't hate it and I'm looking forward to giving it another spin.

Dang, this is a bummer to hear. Wright’s a favorite of mine and my copy arrives tomorrow. May just return it. After some recent releases, I thought Universal turned a corner and that this was a safe bet.

My copy arrived today. I'm considering returning it. I have the first two on Blu-Ray, so I could pick up the third film for pretty cheap on Blu-Ray as well. This is such a bummer.

I was hoping Hot Fuzz would be better in motion. It's worse. Shaun looks marginally better but it's still looks to be the same master just up-rezzed which...all right. It's not Bourne Identity I guess. And TWE has a very odd HDR pass. Whole film looks dimmed down.

I'll keep it but man what a bummer.

Damn. And to think I actually had some confidence in Universal's UHD output as of late. My preorder is cancelled.

Well preorder for separate releases have come up so it looks you you don't have to buy the set.

There's no reason to lose confidence in them as long as we're talking about new scan.

Ugh, it's so annoying, because we know how good those movies could and should look But... I don't care for Shaun just like I don't care for TWE, so I can live with Hot Fuzz being butchered, I just feel sorry for anyone who loves all three.

He does AFAIK but he also provides shots that actually show the expanded dynamic range in any given scene other than the blanket 100/150/200 pass given to all the caps. It makes it more unwieldy to look at and compare which is why mouseover sites aren't doing this but without such nuance then caps often end up giving the HDR side of things the shit end of the stick.

For any Canadians looking to pick this up, I called up Bay Street Video and they said to import it'd be over 80 bucks. And I thought WowHD's $66 was insane. Amazon has it for $77.

Thanks E One.

I'm so disappointed to hear about the poor quality of this UHD set. I was going to pick this up on Black Friday if it was going on sale but after this feedback I changed my mind.

I traded in my blu-ray copies of all 3 in anticipation of this set! Ah well, I guess I'm committed - figure the HDR will provide some improvement.
