As a relatively new TT customer, I have to give high praise to them! They ship quickly (even with Media Mail, as you said), pack things carefully, and have some great titles! I'm sorry to hear that one of the founders recently passed, but so long as they wish to continue the business, I'll count myself a customer.

Also, The Best of Everything and Anne of the Thousand Days just arrived today! Apparently a shipping center of theirs is local to me in Texas!
I forgot to mention how well everything was packed ... first tightly packed in bubble wrap, then the bubble wrap surrounded by styrofoam peanuts.

Ever since Twilight Time started their business, they've been putting out titles in my wheelhouse ... which is why I have so many of them. I can't keep up watching as much as I buy, but also can't resist the titles they offer. Such a nice dilemma.

Interesting. One of the movies I ordered was The Vanishing and it comes in a blue case, yet I didn't get a spare clear case. So maybe it is only certain movies

“The Vanishing” was released before they made the switch over to transparent cases. The October 2018 slate (Glass Dolls and Black Widow) were accidentally shipped with blue cases.

I'm not sure. But you can purchase clear cases from them for about $1.30 or so, I think it was. The clear case for SNoGD showed up in my cart & I clicked it just to see. Sure enough, it sent me to a product page with the case for sale, though they didn't charge me in this case. You may also want to shoot them a message about it. Maybe it was an oversight and they'll ship you one if you want it.

I'm also impressed (if not a little puzzled) that 2 spare clear Blu-ray cases were included with the order, since I didn't ask for them. The only reason I can come up with is that 2 out of the 10 titles I ordered came in the older blue cases (Black Widow [1954] and Short Night of Glass Dolls), while the other 8 titles came in clear cases. FWIW, the other titles in my order were:

Another Woman
The Detective
Gran Bollito
The L-Shaped Room
The Last Hurrah
My Gal Sal
My Sister Eileen
The New Centurions

Thank you Twilight Time and SAE!
IIRC, the manufacturer put Short Night of Glass Dolls and Black Widow in blue coloured eco-cases by mistake, so replacement clear [non-eco] cases are included with those orders. It's not all releases with blue cases that get the clear replacements, just those ones.

I watched the BD of "X, Y and Zee", my first watch from my sale order. The film is a deliriously campy, over-the-top melodrama featuring Elizabeth Taylor at her most entertaining. Playing the wife of wealthy architect Robert Blakely (Michael Caine), Taylor screams, insults, drinks, and generally is a human wrecking ball throughout the film's 108-minute running time. Caine's marriage to Zee (Taylor) is in complete shambles, as he struggles to get through even the most basic interactions with his shameless wife. This leads to Caine turning to an extra-marital affair with kind, thoughtful boutique owner Stella (Susannah York).

There's not a ton of plot to speak of, as the film essentially follows the pattern of Caine having discussions with York about leaving Taylor, Taylor acting like a complete maniac, and Caine not being able to go through with leaving her out of guilt/regret. Caine also manages to squeeze in some sex with his young secretary and York and Taylor manage to generate a lesbian subplot.

This is a film designed for those viewers who are highly amused by unabashed camp. Taylor, of course, is the star of the show, completely embracing her role with total abandon. York doesn't have a ton to do, but is a warm, interesting screen presence as always. Caine is worth talking about in this film because he gives the type of performance that popped up here and there in the late 60s and early 70s for him. You can see similar performances from him in "The Magus" and "Deadfall".

In the film, Caine is incredibly subdued, even sedated, for much of the running time. However, on occasion, he will explode with a burst of rage so intense and so unexpected that it simply adds to the camp factor. There is one scene where he loses his mind with his secretary that had me laughing quite hard.

Directed by Brian G. Hutton, "X, Y and Zee" won't be for everyone. But if you enjoy campy melodramas played with zero shame, then this is a film well-worth picking up while it's on sale.

They don't always print the full amount up front. It sounds like they still have the first batch for that title and it's possible subsequent batches will be in the clear cases. This has happened to some of the other original releases that originally came in a blue case.

I don't think they have too many titles left that haven't sold out from the blue case era.

There were a couple of Kritzerland CDs I wanted to pick up at 40% off during the SAE sale, so I padded my order with five additional Twilight Time titles. This brought my order to more than $99, which allowed me to get six months' worth of zero percent financing through PayPal Credit. Here's what I picked up on this second sale order:

I'm especially looking forward to revisiting Yanks. I went to see it in the theatre when it first opened, and enjoyed it, particularly the performances of Vanessa Redgrave and William Devane; then some friends of mine thought they might like it, so I went with them for a second viewing; and a couple of weeks later my family decided to see it, and I went again with them. It will be great to see whether or not it has aged well.

And I've long been curious to see Leslie Caron's Golden Globe-winning, BAFTA-winning, Oscar-nominated performance in The L Shaped Room.

Really trying to stop myself from placing a third order...do I really need to spend $40+ on Model Shop and The Keys of the Kingdom?

Maybe I’ll wait until the next sale so The Tall Men and Whirlpool will hopefully be discounted as well...

Yeah there's a solid handful I want, but I'll no longer bend at the knee for $20 on TT titles...I'll fight the good fight and wait for $15

I know the feeling. I'm eyeing The Bullet Train for a potential third order but if I do that I'll definitely want to add 1 or 2 more titles.

I picked this one up blindly during the sale too, but had added it to my wishlist nearly instantly after it was announced. The synopsis and word of mouth by other reviewers sealed the deal. Haven’t watched it yet, but will get to it eventually. Thanks for posting your review!

Well it took me a bit to dive into the sale, but I ended up getting these this time around. Was tempted on about three more~that were $15-20 each. I'll take my chances and wait for the next sale or wait for any low stock alerts...

TT isn't a label I follow that closely, so I didn't know they were having a sale until I happened to see earlier that Sword of Sherwood Forest was only a super nice $14.95. I've been curious about it since it was announced almost a year ago. Being a Hammer film with Peter Cushing and Richard Greene, and directed by Terence Fisher, it seemed very promising, but I just don't blind buy that often. However, at that price I couldn't pass it up, so I snagged myself a copy. Can't wait to check it out.

Does anyone know how customs is handled for a Screen Archives order to the UK?

Is it through Royal Mail or a private courier?
Do I have to pay online with a notification card through the post, or can I pay a courier at the door?

Thanks for your help.

I placed two orders with them (both received) and I never received this feedback email. Anyone else receive it? Wondering what the chances are because I'm thinking of placing a third order and 2.00 off each item would be nice.
