Ditto. If all they offer is repackaged 1080p, then what is the difference? It is simply repackaged blu-ray.

I would be interested in 4K HDTV and movies. But the player would have to be backwards compatible. I would gladly sit my blu's beside the next format on my shelf. But double-dip from blu-ray to 4K? No way. Well, ok. Maybe for The Polar Express and Total Recall as both those transfers suck nard.

The economic slump certainly is slowing down BD adoption. But that is a good thing as it takes longer before players hit market saturation. Thus a longer shelf life.
