If you believe there’s 1,000 then I cant argue.

I only know what I have and what has been released.

For an accurate US count go through the 4k release calendar and start from early 2016, for international there’s a thread for 4k titles not available in the US and count.
Go to your flag at the top right of this sight and click on the earth emblem ...then see how 4K has a listing of over 8,800 titles in 44 countries... For fun I'm going to go through and count all That I can through 440 pages lol. If you would like to believe only 600ish exsist then you as well may believe what you like... A lot of 4K content specific and only for each country that sells 4K. In other words: alot of German produced for Germans, French produced for France, and so on.

this is an incorrect number, Germany alone has nearly 80 not listed in the U.S. list. Also All 4K films, shows, and concerts are region free...so as I said before, "Alot of Titles to choose from"... Definitely more than a thousand.

There are easier ways the forum I posted is as accurate as they come as it’s constantly updated

And for the US go here

https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/relea...6&month=2&4k=1

And keep going until sept 2019. Only around 45 tabs not 400+ pages

But I can tell you still won’t believe the facts.

Yeah, I just did that and two of the ones that pop up on that very first page alone are collected multi-movie sets. Do you not see the problem here? There have indeed been discs produced only for France, Germany etc but they don't run into thousands, not even hundreds, but dozens at most, and even then the majority of them are just localised encodes of movies that've already been released elsewhere. They're not 'different' titles otherwise we could tot up all the different encodes and variations of Blu-rays that exist and say that there's a gajillion of them too. It's true in the broadest numerical sense but not in terms of the actual content.

Here's the first page of the US titles if you just search for "4K" and put them in title order. On just this first page alone there's the Craig 4K boxset which isn't out yet, The 15:17 to Paris which has no UHD at all, three separate listings for 2001 (original release, corrected release, steelbook), 3 From Hell which isn't out yet even in cinemas, the 50th anniversary Planet of the Apes set which just collects the UHDs of the new trilogy and the BDs of the old movies, Abyss 4K which is still just a rumour, Ad Astra which is only just coming to cinemas, Great Mouse Detective which is just wishful thinking, and finally Akira which was announced but isn't out yet on UHD and won't be for a while.

So, if it's facts you want then out of 20 listings on that first page alone there are only 10 individual titles that actually exist to buy today, with the rest being assumptions for new releases, outright wishlist stuff, collected sets, duplicates and genuine pre-orders/announcements. Extrapolate that across 1053 titles and there's the ACTUAL ~500 titles available to buy in the US at this very moment.

Geoff if you go through the 4k release list month by month starting Feb 2016 it’s much easier and no rumors only releases. It was eisier for me because I only counted what I didn’t have.

I know, I'm just using matey's methodology to show how flawed it actually is.

Here's another one, this time selecting a random page number (note that the total has already gone down from 1053 to 1051, maybe someone is watching this thread lol). I chose page 13 and this is what comes up: two listings each for DM1, DM2 and the live-action Grinch with no apparent difference in content (probably re-released with movie cash, Universal do that a lot), a wishlist entry for Donnie Brasco, Divergent listed as both the individual and trilogy set, and Doctor Strange with the regular release and the Target steelbook.

You should be seeing some sort of pattern here Phillip, but by all means double down on your silliness like so many people do on forums instead of just saying "oh, I was wrong, sorry!".

Dude! I counted just the individual Film Titles that are actually available as well as a list of stuff I'm already aware of that isn't U.S. released and it's way more than 500... I get that there are duplicates and "not availables yet" or "no release date"... I'm not sticking to the U.S.only list as ALL 4K FILMS ARE REGION FREE. and there in makes the available content pool larger. eBay and Amazon are available in other countries and can be purchased from all over the world. eBay u.k. is different than eBay U.S. Amazon de is different than Amazon U.S. and so forth. All 4 Bruce Lee 4K films are not listed in the U.S. 4K list, where is the U.S. 4K release of the Animation Asterix?
Or Alibi.com? What about the Lichtmond in 4K? Where are the U.S. copies of those?

Wow, seven whole titles not released in the US. Most of those, ahem, 'thousands' of foreign titles are literally just duplicates of the US discs no matter if you buy them from ebay uk, ebay us, ebay guatemala, ebay timbuktu or wherever.

Not thousands of foreign titles, I never said that! I said all in all, over all countries including the U.S. films, series, and concerts...closer to 2,000. But the only actual number I'm arguing is that there are well over a Thousand and not 600ish. Plus I only listed 7 because I haven't the time to type out a thousand films in a post... 7 is an example, or do you not get that?

Take the German 4K listings. 667 titles noted when just blindly searching for "4K", but let's just look at the first page in title order. Out of 20 titles there are 14 that are outright clones of the US or international discs, a duplicate for 2001, a 4-title documentary collection, Alita listed as both regular and steelbook, a localised StudioCanal encode of a Lionsgate title (American Assassin) and only 2 outright exclusives in 12 Strong and Adventure Yellowstone.

See what we mean? If you're just talking about how many physical UHD discs are out there in each country then are indeed thousands (I believe you mentioned "over 8,800"?) in purely literal terms, but those that actually have exclusive content to each country are minimal.

Not as U.S. releases they are not, Yes someone has listed them from other countries but those titles are not to be found in the 1,053 list ( yes I know that contains duplicate titles) the point is that the list on this site under U.S. 4Ks regardless of the number is not a total of Titles available throughout the world. If you expand the search to include all countries and subtract ALL duplicates then you will come up with a far larger number that exceeds 1,000...to prove this, there is a guy several posts ago who doesn't agree with me that intends to count them all and post all U.S. titles and international titles that differ from the U.S. titles. I also out of pure fun and curiosity intend to do the same. If he makes a list first then I will compare and post alterations if any...If not I will make a thread and admit to being incorrectly informed if it doesn't hit that 1,000 film mark lol.

I counted the titles on the forum and added them to the us titles which made around 700 worldwide. I used the forum for non US and the release calendar for the US 600+130 foreign = 730.

1. Blu-ray.com U.S. list: states1,053 Listings ( Yes, I confess these contain Duplicates: Steelbooks, Digibooks, collector's sets, box sets, and so on.)
2 total International list according to Blu-ray.com lists: 8,868 Listings ( Yes, I confess these contain Duplicates: as many as 20 plus per title in some cases as well as Steelbook, Digibook, Collector's sets, box sets, and so on.)
3. counting Individual Titles of Films, Shows, Documentaries, Cartoons, and Concerts and the like...you will achieve a count greater than a thousand
4. Most of you likely own more 4K films than I own films on all formats but not even counting 4K streaming that's not available on Physical media, there still is a far larger quantity of 4K'S than a measly 600+...

So where are the titles on the release list? I went month to month from 1st release to Sept 2019 and I have 496 I only counted 90 or so that I didn’t have so either I have almost 1000 discs or it’s not listed on the 4k release calendar which I highly doubt. And at least 10 of the 496 are imports.

Geoff D says above: "The Actual 500 Titles available in the U.S."...
Kubrick says above: "600 U.S. titles"...
Ignoring My number all together, the Fact that there is a 100 title difference in your numbers as to the U.S. releases total should at the very least make you consider the possibility that a third party with a different number is actually possible... I believe that Kubrick knows 100 U.S. titles more than Geoff D... Would it be possible that someone else could have obtained a differing number with titles previously unknown to that individual? If I can come up with 1 more title aside from the 130 foreign additions added by Kubrick, wouldn't that prove more than 730 which in itself is an oddly round number?
