I'm eager to see the colors of Lord of the Rings in Blu-ray. Seeing the colors more saturated and how they "pop" is just as awesome as the detail of the picture. Rivendell and Lothlorien should look amazing!

I'm also eager for a lossless audio track. I want to feel like the Balrog is in my living room.

I hope they port the same labels on the extended cut DVD's to the Blu-rays. Beautiful artwork on them.

There's no doubt in my mind that PJ will not screw the BD release(s) for the fans. If NL on the other hand - or WB - try to put their two cents in - when it comes to bringing it to the masses - they could ruin it. I think - if all goes to plan - WB/NL will hopefully bring *fingers crossed* lossless audio with 7.1 CH with 1080p and all the other bells and whistles I can't think of at this moment in time

I'm so stoked for these movies to come out on BD. I want the extended versions but who knows if they'll be released or not.

I'm going to have to hold off until the Extended Editions are released. I have no problem upgrading from DVD to BD for these, but I don't want multiple versions of the same movies on one format.

Ah man, if LOTRs comes out with lossless 7.1, I'm buying 2 more speakers, a stereo amp and going all out 7.1. Mmmmmm...

Apparently the LOR Trilogy is getting a July 15 release in the UK. (Theatrical versions only)

I know that many here will not be buying the BD until we see a Extended Cut release (me included) but you got to admit that it will be fun at the very least to rent it or watch it with a friend who as the BD , LOTR on BD will be crazy

The DVD does upscale pretty well so one can only imagine what the BD will be like

the DVD does indeed upscale well. My cousin has a 1080p Sharp and when he plays the movie in his Blu Ray player it looks MARVELOUS. The actual Blu Ray should be mouth-watering.

Like many others, I will wait it out too since the extended scenes do add a lot to the movies.

I'd really prefer to get the extended edition, as I thought they added a lot to the films. However, I know in my heart of hearts that I'm so keen on the films that if they came out on bluray as theatrical edition, I'd end up buying. Depends on price of course.

No it doesnt I guess. But you see, I watch my blu-rays on my PC, and on a PC, theres ways to 'bend' the region locks a little
