The only English friendly German anime releases I can think of are the stuff from Universal (Owari no Seraph, Drifters) and stuff that was originally done in English- like Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust.

That said, for non-anime stuff, they have more subbed stuff than you'd think. For example, the new 4K UHD Blu-ray of Oldboy (one of my favourite films of all time) has English subs.

^^ Indeed, outside the Anime selections, I have a significant amount of Steelbooks, Mediabooks, etc... from Germany, as they publish absolutely gorgeous packages.

It's unfortunate that Anime titles get short shrift in this regard but again, I suspect that where including a UK or NA release copy in there packaging is relatively easy, since the show was in English to begin with, translating from Japanese into both German and English costs more than they are willing to spend.

edit: ah, after a second read of your post I see you were refering to Asian live action that has both.
Yes, I have some, still wish they would do Anime as well though.

Translation costs aren't even an issue; they're not allowed to add English subtitles to German anime Blu-ray releases. The license they buy will more than likely specifically state that they can only make it attractive for buyers in their own market.

^^ Good point that I forgot about.
Licensing is tricky and full of caveats, I'd imagine. Especially with Japanese Anime which I suppose, they think of as a national treasure.

I really hope they don't skip Road to the Future (Season 3 compilation movie with new scenes). I'm also really glad we did get Timeless Medley, it was an interesting way of doing a compilation movie and it worked so well. I enjoyed it almost as much as Free! Eternal Summer.

Hey! Do you want the Storyboards and companion book and slipbox from the UK Perfect Blue Ultimate Edition for MORE than the actual Ultimate Edition? Then you can order it here from Rightstuf for the low, low price of $90!

So why am I posting this here? Because Anime Limited is selling it at such a marked up price.

Oh, and I guess they're selling the FLCL soundtrack on Vinyl, too.

Yea where is that extra 25% off:
Quote:
Did you know pre-orders are already discounted up to an extra 25% off the everyday sale price at RightStufAnime.com!
Other stuff shows the markdowns on pre-orders, but I guess exclusives like this don't get markdown? I think they could get away with $50-60, but $90 is much.

Just going to point out very important wording... “up to an extra 25% off” (they don’t guarantee any discount, essentially) and yeah, they put that on all pre-order items.

Yeap, know that, but it doesn't say 0-25% off either.
Which implies some kind of discount, could be 1%, but my main point bringing it up was that its a little pricey and if it actually had 25% off listed price it might make it more palatable to some.

Silver Spoon Season 2 in the UK is still alive and is now scheduled for 14th October 2019, the same day that Attack on Titan the Movie: The Roar of Awakening is scheduled.

It's on early bird offer over on Anime Ltd's store at £34.99 + Postage (for internationals). Season 1 is also on offer once again for the same price.

What's the difference between the "limited edition" and "Amazon.jp limited edition?"

I know this was already mentioned, but I don't think anybody posted this video of the restoration (if so, I apologize)

When we get a North American release with subs of this, it will be mine.

Most Japanese anime releases end up being region-free actually, you'll commonly see them listed as such on CDJapan.

^^ Been eagerly awaiting this!

I see Amz.uk don't have it listed yet but I guess plan too?
I'll probably end up ordering from them, sadly, as their shipping is significantly cheaper than Anime.lmtd.
Thanks so much for the heads-up HunterKIller !

I've got the Discotek BD and the old Bandai Special Edition DVD, but I may dip again for this release.

Its listed on Amazon UK without the pre-order.

Edit: Looks like Pre-order at AmzUK is now up and running for £27.24

More artwork for each season here:
[Show spoiler]

You can pre-order Season 1 now for that box. Season 2 pre-orders will commence later. Nozomi discs for all of Gundam 00. Movie & OVA Special Edition coming 2020. No plans for 4K UHD Movie release. Deluxe Edition plans canceled in favour of a new idea to house the entire franchise (I've explained it over on the UK anime section so look there for more details).
