I watched the blu-ray a week or so ago. It's worth a look if you like movies like 10 Cloverfield Lane and such. It veers away from the horror genre pretty quickly and into a genre that I really don't care for, but the movie is creative enough to where I enjoyed it in spite of that.

First, there was Charlie and Andy McGee in Stephen King’s FIRESTARTER.
Then there was Eleven and Hopper in STRANGER THINGS. Now there’s Chloe and Henry Lewis in FREAKS That. Was. Exceptional. Absolutely marvelous. A darker take on THE X-MEN than those films ever went. Snagged a copy with a mint slipcover off of eBay before the end credits on my Netflix steam had come to an end. |
