As far as my back and forth between Steedeel (or anyone else) isn’t anymore disruptive than any of the other posts from multiple members that most of the time have nothing to do with the discussion. As another member pointed out, if you don’t like the direction of the thread you have two choices.

Stir the conversation in a different point or leave the thread. Otherwise you don’t have a leg to stand on when you call out a member in a thread you don’t actively participate in. Chances are, it isn’t going to change things one way or another. We’ll still continue to disagree on preferences over quality.
I wasn't asking you to contact me personally, in your previous post you mentioned that you feel that I should've contacted you privately about it at the beginning, and that both you and Steedeel agree that it didn't need to be turned in to a "public spectacle". I was merely saying to this, that if discussing it publicly bothers you, like you said it does, then why didn't you contact me privately. To answer your question, had I contacted you privately about it, you would have shrugged it off, and said that you don't think there's anything wrong with it, just like you've said now, so there would've been little point in doing so.

Disagreements over preferences of quality is one thing, that would be on topic, and I have no issue with that, that includes you posting gifs to such comments. The first gif you post in those situations is fair game. What I have an issue with is, when Steedeel sometimes gets upset, you then stoke the fire, by posting a second, third, fourth, fifth... gif in a row, just to further upset him, which is what takes things off topic, and causes unncessary arguments which are disruptive, which don't need to happen, and wouldn't happen if you didn't do it. That is why I brought up Groot in one of my previous posts, because she would purposely antagonise members with gifs the same way, and in the end, look where that got her. I've been a member here for almost 10 years, you didn't always post this way, it was only when you became friends with Groot, I noticed that you started to do it as well. Surely you're reasonable enough to see this? Anyway... I've said all I'm going to say, if you don't see the problem with what you do, then I don't know what else I can say, except, if I see you purposely being antagonising toward Steedeel with gifs, or anyone else, I will call you out on it, and report you to the mods. Enjoy your day off.

Ooh, I get to promote my thread again!

https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=321338

I am looking to buy another 4K TV, a new AVR, new floor standing speakers, new center channel speaker, another 4K disc player, even a new surge protector- and not one of those cheapie ones with sacrificial one save only components.

I am concentrating mostly on the TV right now as I have to do this in steps. All at once would be too expensive for this poor little retiree.

Groot was banned ages ago for reasons that I do not know nor do I need to know. You seem obsessed with her as you constantly invoke her name as if she were some legendary forum arch villain; the Sauron of blu-ray.com.

If there is anything that I know about Steedeel it is that he can take care of himself. He is not a damsel in distress and he does not need you to be his knight in shining armor.

Again, I suggest heeding Blu Titan's sage advice unless any here care to join Groot in exile.

How desperate are you? There are micro LED sets coming and also 8K sets that will upscale 4K and full HD to a very high standard. I would sit on it for a year Vilya.

No desperation, but I am not getting any younger nor any healthier; I just want a newer, preferably bigger, TV for my main viewing room. My existing TV is just fine and it will be moved to my office; gotta keep it for the 3D!

As for waiting to see what next year brings, that is an endless quest as a year from now will see new marvels just looming over the horizon. If you're not careful, you can wait so long that you miss everything.

Further, first generation tech is usually very expensive, unproven, and all but certain to be revised substantially in the second and third model years and at a lower price. I can't afford to be a TV beta tester even though I wish I could.

I would go with the LG in that case.

OLEDs are purdy, but they cause me anxiety and I would not gain much in screen size as I can only afford the 65" size. The 77" models are more than double the cost of the 65" models.

Anyway, I made a thread for this conversation and I do not want to get a GIF reprimand.

I’m nervous about my bedroom tv. It’s 3D but I may have to depend on my VR headset if that packs in. IF the PS5 has 3D playback, the next gen headset would guarantee access to 3D for several more years. I would feel better about 3D in that case. I still have a huge backlog of 3D titles I could snap up.

I only mentioned Groot because Donster was friends with her, and his gif posting style is exactly the same.

Maybe I'm reading it wrong, but too me your posts have come across as though you side with Donster, simply because you are friendly with him, from speaking with him in this thread everyday, and you see me as a disruption to your little world here in this thread. It's not just about Steedeel, I have no doubt that he can take care of himself, its the principle of the matter. It doesn't matter who Donster does it to, it's not right. Anyway... I agree with you, I think it's time that we all stop responding to each other about this, otherwise there might be some bans given out.

Snap 'em up anyway; you have a projector and they support 3D. Projectors not only offer amazing 3D, or so I am told, they are readily available.

It’s the playback option that concerns me.

I've actually seen a photo of Donster in the post a photo of yourself thread in the general section, judging by the look of him, I doubt very much that he would purposely antagonise many people in real life , so why do it on the computer... Perhaps it makes him feel big, who knows Anyway... I agree with you, I think it's time that we all stop responding to each other about this, otherwise there might be some bans given out.

I thought a GIF reply would be appreciated here.

I like both of them actually, but that doesn't mean that we don't butt our stubborn heads together occasionally.

I do not see you as a disruption, but you do seem to be bulldog stubborn yourself as you have so far refused to let go of this particular bone of contention. I am sure that you have more to offer and I look forward to seeing what that is when you get around to it.

Another brief excursion here:

The new Denon AVRs that I am considering have all dropped their AM/FM tuners, including the $4000 flagship model. Retaining this functionality can not be that expensive.

I almost never listen to the radio, but I like knowing that I can. I don't like being pushed ever more towards internet reliance for entertainment. Radio is reliable and I can not say that about the internet.

Unfortunately we live in a day and age where the raison d'être of corporations is not to give people the best they can but only to maximize profits. If a feature costs pennies and it won't influence your purchasing decision it is just not worth including.

Will UHD and Bluray will be the last physical format though? Just curious what they would do next. We aren’t getting an 8K disc I’m guessing
