It would be incredible if someone released ‘The Maze’ in region B. Never going to happen, but no harm in imagining!

I'm optimistic, but the days of assuming 3D support are sadly over. The narrative about 'the death of 3D' has done serious damage. We have to be visible and vocal.

Otherwise everyone just believes what they heard. We'll be invisible, ignored, like we don't exist. The labels that put these films out need to know that so many years on, 3D remains a vital factor in whether these titles will sell or not. A company like Olive or Mill Creek might think 'why should they invest in creating a 3D master if it would've sold regardless'. And then when it doesn't sell, they conclude that it's not a popular enough title to justify that kind of investment. We've been incredibly lucky that KL have been as supportive as they have been.

I realise not everyone is in a position to do this, but on principle I would double dip on this title if 3D support is there. There is always the option to resell it down the road when it's out of print. I have no idea if Indicator would pursue other 3D titles, but they would be a prestigious ally to have, and anything that flies in the face of those who have denounced 3D would be extremely attractive to me.
The thing is, many 3D fans will moan about the situation but do nothing about it. Get on Facebook or Twitter and be heard. If you guys hate social media, do it anyway. Just for 3D! Make it a mission to promote 3D. Get on YouTube and create a channel to talk 3D.

I often wonder if the industry would consider 3D Blu-ray on demand. I wouldn’t mind BR-R as long as we get a 3D film.

More to the point, then, go to WB's social channels. They have a BR-R program (Warner Archive) and they're the lone remaining major holdout with a significant number of unreleased Golden-Age 3d titles.

The ending was the best part as I didn't find the acting to be very good.

It does make for a great drinking game though, take a shot every time the lead actress opens or closes a large door and you won't make it through the movie.

With regard to The Maze, I loved the whole movie, from beginning to end. It is awesome. It's one of my favorite Golden Age 3-D movies.

At some point, I believe 3-D will be popular again, and newcomers will eventually learn about all the Golden Age 3-D titles that were previously released on Blu-ray by companies like Kino, and seek them out. Kino, as long as it retains the rights for the 3-D titles it has released, will hopefully continue to make money long into the future.

I understand the depth is stunning? Is there many pop outs?

Oh yeah, there are plenty of pop outs. And yes, the depth is stunning. Every scene in the movie was made with 3-D in mind. I just watched it again recently and it never gets old. Plus, the 3-D Film Archive re-created the three-track stereo sound for the Blu-ray and that is great, too. If I were you, I'd bite the bullet and get that Region Free player. I live in the states, and several years ago bought one for about $130 so I could watch Region B stuff. It has made life so much easier.

Japanese VHDs had sort of a following worldwide for that before 3D blu-ray came along, as at the time they were the best way to get many 3D titles for home viewing. Working on converting mine to side-by-side format so I can still watch them, as that format requires a CRT for the 3D to work.

Thanks. The screenshots looked incredible.

Yeah, I hear you. Having said that, it looks like I might get lucky with ‘The Mad Magician’. It’ looks like it could be out early next year here. 3D yet to be confirmed.

The 3-tracks almost sounded like five in some scenes. They are that good.

There are more titles than I expected to see and two more are imminent. You can click on the number (currently 385) on my blu-ray collection under my name. I have Vintage releases in my first grouping. Friday the 13th is anaglyph however.
