yes, thats true, maybe it's a individual case, because
other user from bluray-disc.de get the steelbook in a good condition.

I shipped the steelbook back and he'll send me a new one, i hope the new is in a good condition

Default How limited is Clone Wars steelbook?

How many copies did they make of it?

Also, where do you get the information about the amount of production of all steelbooks?

Much help appreciated.

THANKS!

The most common number I have heard is 1000 Copies. I beleive this came from Warner NL.

To your second Question, usually Google

I don't know if it just me, but this number (1000) just seems wrong for some reason. Not the way these have been popping up left and right as of lately-LOL! Didn't they only press 2000 of The John Rambo Steelbook? It Seems that this and the I Am Legend Germany seems more rare the The Clone Wars Steelbook.

It could be that no one really bought this title in the Netherlands - leaving a lot of other titles for sale.

Also, a lot of us would have ordered from some of these online retailers - had we not had doubts about any copies left, or some reports of them being randomly mixed in with other cases.

I think it plausible that in a lot of ways this is a "manufactured rarity" - meaning there are a lot of copies still available, it's just hard to track them down.

Who knows for sure though.

Well technically speaking, I read somewhere on the official SteelBook website that you needed to order a minimum of 8000 copies.
Now, Warner have the power to ask for 10 copies if they so desire.

Let's do some estimates.

How many copies have popped up online? 300? That's considering all the other websites there exists (Amazon, eBay, craigslist, sellyourmom.com).
Now what about personal copies sold and kept? 400 in the NL?
Add to that the 100 copies that website got. And you're at 800, fill in the void and you get your 1000.

Not really a fair comparison. Rambo and IAL have both been out MUCH longer and all Stocks have long been exhausted. Plus Rambo got hit by the Censorship Law here in Germany, which is why you well NEVER see it on eBay or other Sites here as it is illegal to offer them without some sort of Age Verification (PostIdent). IAL is rare simply because it hass been OOP vor quite some time.

Clone Wars was also very expensive until the Site I mentioned earlier started selling the approx. 140 Copies they have. Once those are also exhausted, it will most likey go back up in Value.

"SteelBook can be manufactured to accommodate the exact number of discs required (min. quantity of 8000 units). This year single, 2/One overlap, 3/One overlap and 4/One overlap disc versions are available."

On the product description page.

That's ok, took me a while to find it again. At least I'll know how to back myself up.

But I think that rule applies to companies who want to make SteelBooks for presentations and stuff. Studios must have some accords.

I got my Copy from that Site in the NL today and it was indeed sent in a Bubble Mailer but, arrived in perfect condition. The guy there has since learned his lesson and is now shipping everything in Cardboard Boxes.

Hey, so for sure you will be receiving the clone wars steelbooks right? How long do you think it'll take for it to get shipped to you?

Mine was sent on March 4th, so I'll be getting the bubble-wrap treatment right?

I was asked to step in and clarify some numbers here.

From Scanavo's website, the minimum production run per SKU is 8,000 units. What is not posted, is that the minimum run per SKU for Blu-ray SteelBooks is 4,000 units.

As for the other numbers posted in this thread, I have no comment.
