In before the Ryan Reynolds "But Why?" gif and countless posts about how unnecessary this is. I actually think the idea of Pennywise (or whatever he was before) terrorizing the pioneers of Derry would be an interesting take. Set the movie decades before the events involving the Losers's club.

Just call it "Pennywise" and have it be about that character.

I never understood why they didn't make this a trilogy in the first place. There's a TON of stuff left out of the first two.

Or four part "trilogies" where the last film is split in two, in order to milk it for even more money.

While were at it why not go back and do a three hour movie about the turtle and IT. My brother was just talking to me about seeing part 2 tonight and I said I'd think on its because of bills, this kind of reporting and these ideas floating around make less inclined to see this now.

Jesus let it be, 2 three hour long movies is fine for this story.

I do not know how people would take the turtle. They'll believe in the man-eating, shapeshifting cosmic alien clown, but a giant cosmic turtle? I can hear the Gamera jokes now.

I know its in the book, but some things just don't adapt well.

There was actually a scene shot involving The Turtle, but it wound up on the cutting room floor for reasons of pacing.

Isn't Chapter Two kinda underperforming though? That might put them off continuing the series.

I mean of course we all know that with over a billion worldwide between the two parts the chance of revisiting the world of Pennywise was always gonna be a possibility, so any announcement Warner makes isn't gonna surprise anyone, but tbh with the absolutely creatively bankrupt state the horror genre is in these days in Holllywood, I really don't have much problem with them doing a few IT prequels exploring the Native American early years of the monster clown or the more "famous" incidents from the town of Derry. Can't be any worse than these endless remakes and adaptations of internet memes that the likes if Blumhouse keep shitting out.

If they were to give these projects to interesting filmmakers with a remit to do something different with them, they could even end up being more worthwhile than the IT films. Just imagine a Pennywise film that doesn't feature 90-140mins of monotonous jumpscare setpieces.

How would you know? It couldn't be any worse than reading it in the book. It can't be worse than the ending we got. They really should have come up with a better ending for Chapter two since they had the gall to make several jokes about the author's bad endings in the movie.

I wish they would have put the turtle in. I wish they would have named it Gamera, as well. A perfect ending for It Of The Galaxy Vol 2.

The idea of a prequel of Pennywise might be interesting, when it can be about him terrorizing Derry decades maybe even centuries before the Events of IT, but ultimately might not mean much to the audience for the film to not dive deeper into his lore a little bit, unless all we need is him terrorizing people constantly.

Honestly I'd be interested as long as they delve into his character a lot more, just me probably.
