awp69- can you confirm if there is English CC subtitles on the film (Not just English, they have to be for the hearing impaired). Looking at it in the UK store, I don't see English subtitles listed at all... If they really aren't there, then that is the problem, and it's Paramount's issue. If someone contacts Paramount, tell them what the problem is (or at least what Apple thinks the problem is...)

If you do see CC/SDH English subtitles, then it might be Apple's issue, unless they think there is something wrong with the subtitle file...
That's crazy if that's the reason! Especially since it's still being sold by literally every other digital retailer. And... it would likely be a relatively easy fix, right? So what's the holdup, I wonder?

Apple got a really weirdly specific about this a year or two ago. Any feature (and even bonus content) that has ever had CC/SDH subtitles created for it HAS to include those subtitles on iTunes. For the feature, they will not clear it for sale in the US without it. (It is, technically, a legal requirement, so they could be sued if they have a title without them. So could any other digital retailer, but Apple is the only one that seems to be making a big deal out of it (or does Insurrection have CC at the other retailers?) Maybe Apple did get sued... )

If it's in the Extras, and they notice it (like English SDH subs on the Blu-ray, but not delivered with the Extras) they won't approve the Extras until it's fixed... This probably slips through the cracks a bit since I don't think they check them that closely all the time, but that's the theory anyway...
