Just redeemed the code in Movies Anywhere and it specifically says Extended Edition. However, VUDU and AppleTV just show “The Shining”. What is the difference between cuts? Are all 3 streaming services showing the same cut just not called out? Thanks

Yeah, for sure, it does look like WB releases will be harder and harder to find in Canada, I didn't mind paying $46 after taxes for The Shining but for releases I don't need first day I'll probably wait for BF/Boxing Day and import from Amazon.com.

My 4k disc looked perfect on the bottom, but the movie freezes at the 1:43 hour mark where Wendy is looking at Jacks typings. I have a Sony UBP-X700 player. Stopped it and upon replaying it it didnt freeze. Same thing happened with 2001, strange.

At least eventually they come out here. Waiting till BF or Boxing Day isn't a bad idea.

I'd imagine that that's roughly where the second layer break is, I had the same problem on my OPPO with triple layer discs. They'd get anywhere between 1h30m and 2h-ish and freeze, but upon restarting it at that exact point it played fine. Very frustrating.

The extended edition would be the US cut whereas Vudu and AppleTv would just say The Shining which would be the same US cut.

Same thing happened to me at the exact same spot, when I removed it from the player it had a line of dirt/debris, it played fine after I cleaned it.

Interesting. I was wondering if its a coincidence it happened on another WB disc or if it is something with their disc authoring.

Bear in mind that the extended shining and 2001 have very similar running times which could be why that layer break was in practically the same spot.

As soon as I saw the first pics of this steel I felt the same way. The yellow so captures the feeling of the theatrical poster without copying it outright.
