Yea I went to the Walmart I work at and nothing. But rest assured there were a million copies of Spider-Man.

It's the same aspect ratio (16:9), but the framing is a little different (not zoomed, just offset relative to the earlier BD).

Lucky stiff!!! I commute to work every day via bus and if I tried to leave early cause it was going to rain when I'm trying to catch a bus I'd be laughed at. I would then be told I could leave, but that I wouldn't need to bother coming back at all. Man, family can be real slave drivers. Let us know how Gremlins is. That's one I'm wanting to get real bad.

I wish I could fake something to get out of work, but it wouldn't fly. I'm not very good at faking things. Most men aren't.

This could've properly approximated a theatrical 1.85 according to moviebuff's excellent comparison, but would be losing even more height compared to the old 1.78 transfer which (as always) is regarded as some bastion of accuracy.
All this talk about cropping I've been reading is kinda funny knowing that I'm going to see Steve Cropper tonight.

$25 on release day seemed too steep to me.

But I bought it anyway.

Even though i’m stuck in standard HD purgatory.

...I need help.

$25 is not too steep for what they're giving you here. A glorious 4K transfer that rivals some of the best from what I understand. If the home video release is anything like what I saw in theaters last week you're in for a huge treat. And you don't need help. I'm the one needing help. I've now decided to also arrange my movie collection by the placement of the 4K UHD logo on the spine. Ones on top go together in alphabetical order and ones on the bottom go together in alphabetical order.

I’m ok with it but it does take some getting used to. I’m actually surprised the inside artwork is plain b&w. A bit underwhelming...tbh.

So why was the Casino release so much cheaper?

$7 cheaper actually and it was available at Bull Moose so $8.50 cheaper in my state after taxes. WB is definitely keeping their UHDs artificially high compared to other studios and they're being firm about keeping boutique retailers from competing with the competition as well. Every single WB UHD release I've picked up this summer & fall has been $5 more at Bull Moose compared to BBY and Amazon.

I can't complain though as I was happy to pay $30 each for the Shining and Gremlins steels.

Really outstanding, one of the best UHD catalog discs by far
This literally just happened to me. I had a humongous haul today (Tons in 4K, lots to look over), and I threw this in just to check out a few moments, and was so hypnotized by the transfer, that I blew through the entire movie. IMO, It's one of those disks that's so damn great, that it feels like you're watching the movie for the first time. Stellar stuff.

I agree. The only downside is the absence of the mono. Which could be rectified in a future edition.

Walmart must have stepped their game up.

I have ordered from them in the past and didn’t receive the movies until a few days after release date (like Target).

I think we need to step up to the plate and contact WB about the lack of original mixes on release. Seriously.
