Not sure where you live but yeah, here in GA we're in for continued 90s until Saturday when it finally drops into the high 70s.

NYC area. It's early enough in the season and temps do tend to spike to the low to mid 80's this time of year on occasion but 90 degrees is rare. Hopefully, high humidity won't be a factor. On the other end of the spectrum, there was a forecast low of 44 degrees for overnight Friday into Saturday this week but that has since been upgraded to a few degrees above that. We were supposed to get our first taste of Fall but, alas, it was not to be.

Bored at work so I've been doing a lot of daydreaming. Been thinking about the type of house I'd like to live in if I suddenly became wealthy. While everybody else would be busy looking for a home that already exists, I would be busy looking for architects to design one from the ground up. No way I'd waste time looking at developed properties. My dream home would consist of:

A two story structure (not including the basement) with lots of large, floor-to-ceiling windows. Not a mansion, but a home with spaces large enough so that I won't feel claustrophobic but also not so large that my guests would need a map to get around.

All the bathrooms would have urinals and separate toilet rooms so that anyone who just needs to tinker won't have to wait for the bathroom to free up. The shower area would also be separated. No sense in sticking everything in one room. The bathing area would be allocated plenty of space and have lots of spray options. I'm tired of taking showers in tiny tubs with a single spout that trickles out a pathetically weak stream of water.

The kitchen would have a decent walk-in freezer, a breakfast nook strategically placed so that I have great views of the outside, a large pantry and a separate dish prep/wash area from the main kitchen. There's no reason guests should be subjected to a pile of dirty dishes. Oh, and all the appliances would be built-in.

A basement home theater. Nothing too fancy, just big enough to accommodate up to 6 people and featuring all the latest equipment.

Lots of guest bedrooms done up to look like hotel rooms.

If they'd take Paypal I would have rolled the dice. But there's no way I'm giving them my cc info.

Weighing out my current position at work with the position that I was offered earlier today. My position is pretty easy, so much so that I'd feel stupid to give it up but I'm still thinking. The hours would be consistent and I'd get weekends off, compared to closing by myself most nights and working all weekend. Knowing me I'll stay right where I am lol.

one of the most important questions you have to ask yourself...

"which one will make you happier?"

Yeah that's why I'm thinking I'll stay right where I am. I know what is expected of me and it isn't too bad of a position. I can see myself switching and regretting it after a week or two.

Summarizing the entire plot is not a review, it's -- wait for it -- a summary.

If your family is mostly busy, yes, do it.
If your family is mostly free and you can spend time together, no, don't do it.

I've got a few more chores to do for my sister and my daughter, which is great. It'll keep me from thinking about leaving them tomorrow.

The more you earn, the more you give up to Uncle Sam. Keep that in mind
Personally, I need my two days off. The extra bit of money isn't worth the lost time.
