Wow that's a really nice steelbook. I'm perfectly happy with the beautiful digibook release. Green would've been an even better color to use though IMHO. I always associate green with The Exorcist colorwise.

Wow, how many dips before a 4K release.

Every movie is not going to be released in 4K. If there is a particular movie that you want that's currently on standard Blu-ray, you might as get it while it's available because, when it goes OOP, you are going to regret it for not buying it at a reasonable price when you had the opportunity.

If I double dip, and then eventually triple dip with a potential UHD, I’ll just place the 4K disc inside the steel.

There’s no guarantee the standard UHD artwork is going to be amazing, but this steelbook looks pretty worthy to hold any format disc.

There is no guarantee that there will be a 4K release at all. People always have a tendency to take things for granted but in the real world, that's not the way the ball bounce. Is there going to be a 4K release? nobody knows. We didn't always have 4K, and we still watched and enjoyed movies, so it shouldn't be any different now.

Not every film will get a 4K release but The Exorcist almost certainly will. It’s one of the most popular and highly acclaimed horror films of all time.

I’ll be getting this of course - though I’d also favour green over red - but the chances of this never getting a 4K release is as remote as no 4K release for The Godfather or Taxi Driver.

I hope the original 1973 theatrical version doesn’t get buried in favour of the (inferior) 2000 re-edit.

4K - 1973 original (no CGI) - mono audio, please.

So was: A Nightmare on Elm Street, Child's Play (1988), Scream, Psycho, The Omen, Poltergeist The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Saw, Final Destination, Carrie (1977) and many others, and that doesn't mean that they're going to be released in 4K.

I just received my copy from Best Buy today. It's really quite nice and when they eventually release this in 4K, I'll put that disc in the steelbook.

I'll buy a steel of this once they omit the "Extended Director's Cut" label and/or "The Scariest Movie Ever Made" remarks, which are on every SteelBook with this art.
