The Shining 4K UHD (1980)

Finally watched it last night. Not my wife's cup of tea and have to wait for the kids to knock out. They will sit down and watch whatever dad is watching.

Anyway what a stunning transfer. Based on the few caps I've seen I still was not prepared for this.

After this and 2001 I'm eagerly awaiting other Kubrick films on this format such as Full Metal Jacket, A Clockwork Orange, Eyes Wide Shut.

It would be awesome if WB went ahead and released Barry Lyndon. I'd rebuy that film in a heartbeat.

I bought into 4K in 2017, and I've now seen releases that should have been perfect Batman 89' and The Shining come so close but so far away I question myself. Do I buy it and support them or just play more video games in 4K. I get so excited that I woorked myself up to the expectations that 4K promised and hey it's just not there because they F up the Aspect Ratio, then they don't put out Mono, Stereo,5.1,7.1 and Atmos options. Then no special effects and they usually mess up frames and audio. it's just a complete depresing downer. 4K was and can do so much more but these company's FAIL US the people that BUILT their pattootees. End of Story. F.

Like I said. It’s fine to post complaints about a presentation. That’s what these threads are for and many probably feel the same way but when every page has the same member ranting people get fed up. Check his recent posts. Almost all of them are rants about WB and the Shining.

No, you really don't. It's not a matter of if someone's right or someone's wrong. It's the fact that his consistent posting of the same gripe starts to distract from other members sharing their thoughts on this release as well, good or bad.

Did you read his posts? He’s using this thread to alienate people and get a reaction. He’s succeeded tenfold and people are letting him know. He doesn’t attack people? I suggest you read his posts.

No one said anybody hated anyone, or isn't valid, nor insinuated either. And posting tongue-in-cheek clown memes and gifs doesn't mean such at all as well.

Pre-ordered the wknd before release Tuesday from BBY. Then, the day I was suppose to receive I got a “delay notice” from BBY. Still isn’t here. Anyone else in the same boat?

Watched it last night and want to watch it again. One of my favorites. And one of the best looking discs I've seen. Really wish i saw this at the theater last week but i work overnights, so i couldn't. I wish they did these re-releases on friday/sat nights sometimes.
