Just grabbed the last one of Invaders from Mars off Amazon... here's hoping they actually ship it...
By the way, really wish Shout would give more of a heads up, as had been done in the past. Edit: Looked at the item again, and see that it still shows as "1 left in stock". Now I'm really nervous it won't ship. Last edited by ingmog; 10-07-2019 at 09:15 AM. |

Some other MGM titles are now OOP according to Shout's site:
Vampire's Kiss / High Spirits Swamp Thing The Incredible Melting Man New Year's Evil I don't know if this is a case of losing the rights (if so, other MGM titles will surely follow), or if it is because Scream have now sold out of the latest (only?) pressing and don't see the need to print any more due to low sales. I certainly can't imagine any of these are going to be revisited, with the possible exception of Swamp Thing. |

Man, Scream Factory is probably one of my favorite labels. I just love the older horror and Sci Fi, and I'd hate to lose out on a few titles, but it's so damn hard trying to get them all without missing a couple.
That being said, gotta pick up Vampire's Kiss immediately! Fun movie and it's Nick Cage. I'm sore to lose Invaders From Mars; that's been in my Amazon cart a long time now. That's on me. |

Kino also has stated that about 200 of their titles will be going OOP over the next year due to low sales. |

They don't post the news anywhere - I just had a look on their website through the Scream titles, and you'll see some are grayed out with 'Not Available' or something like that. If you click on them, it will say they went OOP on 3rd October.

It's been debated over and over again but the bottom line is if you want a movie badly, then ante up and buy it. No, you don't have to get it the first week it comes out. Yes, there most likely will be a better price with a sale or promotion.... but people waiting for 3 to 5 (sometimes 10!) years to buy a title-- and then complaining about losing their opportunity to buy it are going to have to face reality. |

It would be nice if the labels (or at least more of them, since I think some actually do) could alert you to pending sell outs and looming "OOP after this date" titles, rather than just letting you randomly find out a title has gone OOP when you go to order it. Some of the soundtrack boutique labels do that. La-La Land Records will include low stock alerts in their emails when they have some to report, showing which titles have fewer than 100, 50, 25, etc. copies left.

New Year's Evil has been long on my list of titles to get (no sign of a UK release), along with The Final Terror.
Body Parts I was going to ask about recently in another label thread, but then I saw Paramount mentioned on it's IMDb company credits page. |
