Presumably this Stuckmann, whoever he is, has read every script of the year.

Showing it in 60fps seems a little pointless. Most people won't be able to tell a difference between 24fps and 60fps.

A lot of people output their Netflix content at 60fps...it's pretty normal.

I disagree with that, Hobbit trilogy was in 48fps and almost everyone noticed the difference. And frankly I find the difference very noticeable even in the Oklahoma Blu Ray at 30fps.

If they could tell the difference between 24fps and 48fps on The Hobbit movies, they can easily tell the difference with 60fps.

Humans can see higher fps, but it takes away the filmic look of a film that you have with 24fps, and makes it look more like real-life.

Yeah, I’m not going down to Santa Monica, I’ll stick with 60fps in the IMAX.

My local cinema doesn't know how the movie will be played in.
it's in 3D so I can't imagine it will be in 24fps only, but I've no clue how many variations of the movie are out there.
With the hobbit movies they explicitly mentioned HFR, but back then it was new.

Tomorrow I will know

My local theater will be doing 120fps, but the showtimes aren't ideal for me, so I might just do 60.

below average reviews all around...I guess the only reason to check this out is for the 120fps novelty

You're confusing display frame rate with what it was actually shot at. Your Netflix example is mostly 24fps content being output at 60Hz with a load of duplicated frames (3:2 pulldown etc) which is why it hardly looks different, but GM was actually shot at 120fps which imparts an entirely different feel to the moving image.

This is getting torn apart in reviews. Not surprising in the least.

Still curious to see how it looks in 3D at 120fps though. May have to convince myself to buy a ticket.

So I am near the AMC Lincoln Square in NY which is supposedly one of the 14 theaters having this in 120 fps. I see IMAX and Dolby showings for it, which am I picking to see this film how it is intended.

when you click the dolby info it still says 60 fps.
