I went to work briefly to finish up some tasks while The Mrs got her nails done. She’s headed out of town again, so I spent the day off with her running errands. Lunch wasn’t as good as we had hoped, but the Dairy Queen ice cream before we came home was. Now I’m sitting here having a drink before I shave and shower. I have to open the store tomorrow on my own. Let’s hope all goes well.

Wife didn't get home til 5am this morning, she didn't say anything to me about her night out with her sister but since she doesn't drink I can only imagine what they did. Right now I'm drinking some coffee and watching some Roseanne reruns on TVLand.

Just spent the last 12hrs helping my mom clean up a mess she got into yesterday. Apparently she fell for some Microsoft subscription scam, the ****ers got her to give them remote access to her computer and even somehow convinced her to log into her online banking account so they could start a money transfer. Luckily they live out in the sticks and their internet connection is super slow so not much could be done without the connection timing out(which apparently irritated the scammer), plus my brother happened to be home and stepped in and shut off their router before shit went down. They still managed to lock her out of her computer and start a ACH transfer, which we reversed and set up new accounts. I'm hoping we caught it in time. Took me forever to boot up her computer in "safe mode" (or whatever windows calls it nowadays) and I got in to change her PC password, all while the scammer continued to call over 6x today to "finalize the transfer so she could get her money back" ...ugh, so much hassle.
Now, I'm gonna finish this beer and probably turn in for the night as I have to work some mandatory overtime in the morning.

Just got home a short while ago. I just saw a post on FB Jacqui Saburido who became a symbol in the fight against drunk driving. Apparently she passed away earlier this year. She suffered horrific burns to her whole body and she required 120 reconstructive surgeries to help repair her body.

I don't drink. I've drank I think five times in my entire life and you probably couldn't fill a 20ML soda bottle. But one of the things that I remember hearing in the Marine Corp, during a safety brief, and it really stuck with me, is how are you, as Marines, going to go out into the community and drive while drunk and endanger the very people you swore an oath to protect. That really resonated with me and it's a shame that it happens far too often.

Getting ready to clock in for a mandatory 10hr overtime shift. On top of the 14hr days we've been getting during the week this is bullshit, mandatory overtime should be outlawed - sad part is uncle Sam is going to tax the hell out of my next check so I won't see any more money than a usual 40hr work week.

HUGE step for me and my bride, but the deal was too good to pass up. Moving 45 minutes away from where I have lived for the past 23 years is definitely going to take some getting used to, but man, this house is gonna be great. I finally got my TRUE mancave/basement for my current and hopefully future toys. the spring sounds like a good ways off, but I know it'll be built before we know it.

thankfully we close early tonight, so not too bad, today. and if it starts raining (like it's supposed to) then it'll be that much slower. granted that means the night will pass slower, but i'm ok with that; i'm tired...

o/t: Just got home from work, trying to convince the Wife to let me BBQ some chicken leg quarters for dinner tonight, my daughter's on board but the sister in law is insisting on some kind of pasta. Ugh, I need a beer right about now, any recommendations?
