Just a couple of questions.
1. Lord of the Rings Extended Cuts I only have a few of the extras that appeared on the disk. Is this correct? For example, I only have 3 extras on The Fellowship of the Ring. 2. The Hobbit Extended Cuts The Appendices starts at 7. Is this correct? Where are the other 6? |

Yes it’s correct as to what’s available, The studio saw fit to not add the appendices to the LOTR Trilogy but did with The Hobbit Trilogy.
Probably has something to do with LOTR being New Line Cinema and The Hobbit being Warner Bros. Last edited by -Gonzo-; 10-14-2019 at 07:22 PM. |

It won’t hurt at least asking Warner Bros, but I’m guessing there’s a licensing issue going on when Warner took over New Line as it’s exactly the same via Movies Anywhere with Appendices 7-12 being available with the Hobbit films and the previous 6 not being with the LOTR trilogy.

I absolutely love the extras for Lord of the Rings. I may actually buy the disks when they release when on 4K.

If I had to make a guess, I think Apple/distributors have gotten better at porting over extras. Hence why Hobbit has pretty much all the extras from the disks whilst Lord of the Rings which came out earlier does not.

The 4K version of these movies is coming next summer. We’ll probably see the iTunes extras updated in line with physical release for LOTR.

Unless I didn't look at them thoroughly enough, it appears that The Hobbit movies have some different special features for the theatrical cuts and extended cuts on Movies Anywhere. I havent checked the Lord of the Rings films, but I did notice those slight differences for The Hobbit trilogy.

The Extended Editions are the seen as the ‘Premium’ editions and come with far more extras. |
