The Empire Strikes Back.

I saw the movie in the theater in 1980, before the internet, before blogs that may have leaked the info, before being able to read dozens of reviews before it was in the theaters. Yes, learning that Darth Vader was Lukes father was a shock. I remember thinking No Noooo just as Luke was saying Noooo on the screen.

I will soon be 60, have seen hundreds and hundreds of movies, but this was the biggest shocker I can remember.

I agree with the Sixth Sense, but the Departed didn't seem like much of a twist to me at all {due to the fact that I had already seen the original}

The Happening had an excellent twist. Everyone expected a much better film.

But seriously folks…

You win...there are few things that scare me in this world, but this is one of them...this face with the penis, holding the boy's head...nightmares!

Several of you name it, and I figure I must have missed something.

My vote is Sixth Sense. The Usual Suspects is 2nd, followed by the Empire Strikes Back. I never believe anyone who says "oh I saw those revelations coming a mile away." But that's just me.

People mentioned the Presige, but the Illusionist has a twist in its ending also.

Yeah, I just remember
[Show spoiler]everybody turning on everybody, and eventually everybody shooting everybody.

I enjoyed The Prestige more, but the Illusionist had a good ending... yet for the life of me I can't remember it! I just recall when it finished thinking that the ending redeemed it somewhat.

Uhh and for the topic, I'll pick the obvious ones of Saw and Fight Club; I had seen Scary Movie before I did Usual Suspects so, I knew unfortunately.

Really can't say without spoilers. But there were several that most didn't see coming.

Then, by all means, use spoiler tags.

Re: Departed...
[Show spoiler]I don't see a twist: Damon was corrupt, so we expected him to get it. Nicholson was corrupt, so we expected him to get it. Leo was working both sides, so we expected him to get caught or get it.
