The new classification specifically applies to From Z to A, not The Television Collection, the latter being comprised entirely of already classified elements (based on the press release).

The Television Collection would only need to display an MA15+ rating with the consumer advice for Season 3 as the consumer advice for the M rated discs (i.e. Seasons 1 & 2) are redundant, so MA15+ for "Strong themes, violence, sex and coarse language". From Z to A should display MA15+ for "Strong themes, drug use, violence, sex and coarse language" (factoring in the Season 3 classification, the From Z to A classification, and the "drug use" descriptor carrying over from The Entire Mystery boxset).

JB Hi-Fi's placeholder artwork for From Z to A currently displays an R18+ rating for "Adult themes, Drug use" (the original rating for Fire Walk With Me), however, when Fire Walk With Me was classified alongside Seasons 1 & 2 (and bonus content) as part of The Entire Mystery boxset, it was classified collectively as MA15+ for "Strong themes and drug use", so From Z to A should display an MA15+ for "Strong themes, drug use, violence, sex and coarse language", however, displaying an R18+ for "Adult themes, Drug use" is not technically incorrect, however, it would not be in Paramount's commercial interest to release it with a more restrictive category when there is no legal reason to do so. Fire Walk With Me, if released in isolation, is still *technically* rated R18+; only when it is released alongside The Entire Mystery content can it be released with an MA15+. It's stupid, but Paramount Australia should have handled this better so that they would not have to apply for extraneous classifications in future.
Yeah, I don't care whats on the box or what its rated, ring them up and ask them if its that important to you. What type of help did you expect to get here? You made a statement, I just replied because you may not of been aware that there is a release on the same date that does not include the R18+ film.
So I thought;

R18+ Twin Peaks
-
Fire walk with me
=
MA15+

Yes, I made a statement. I wasn't requesting help. I was informing those here that may be interested that the "From Z to A" elements have been classified, while clarifying your earlier remark that suggested that the new classification listing may have been applicable to The Television Collection boxset, which is incorrect as the classification listing is titled "From Z to A", which includes material not included in The Television Collection set, the latter being comprised of already classified elements (and would not have needed further classification).

I have also provided context concerning the classification history of Fire Walk With Me, which, in isolation, is classified R18+ for "Adult themes, Drug use", as it has been since 1992, but it was also classified collectively with seasons 1, 2, and extra content as part of The Entire Mystery set, which had been classified MA15+ for "Strong themes and drug use" (and that classification listing had a running time of a little over 42 hours, which factors in the entirety of the series at the point of its classification, as well as Fire Walk With Me, and the extra material).

If you don't give a hoot, that's all well and good, and I don't expect many to share my (perhaps obsessive) interest in content classification or the integrity of how retail packages are labelled (as any deviation is akin to a glaring typo especially given how conspicuous the classification markings are). My post was directed at those who may have been interested. I wasn't fishing for replies, except perhaps to provide clarification concerning classification issues.

Your first post states the runtime is incorrect on the classification website, your second post insists the title is absolutely correct on the website.

http://www.classification.gov.au/Pag...K1e5F8LZYPLcyX

because it would be so unrealistic for an Australian bureaucratic department to get information wrong.

Like I said, there is 2 releases on the same day with very similar titles from the same distributor.

I did not state it was incorrect. I pointed out that the running time was inconsistent with what was stated in the press release (which cited over 6 hours of bonus features in addition to previously released material), however, as the classification entry's running time is cited as being over 9 hours in length, I hypothesised that the classification decision may perhaps factor in the UHD disc with the pilot and Part 8 of Season 3 (which would collectively clock in at just under 3 hours), which would explain the 9 hour running time of the classification listing.

The classification would not have applied to The Television Collection because it is inconsistent with the standalone Season 3 classification, which also cites themes and sex as being strong in viewing impact, and therefore would requiring flagging at the MA15+ level (plus there would be no need for a new classification for The Television Collection as it is comprised entirely of previously released material anyway, and would only need to be labelled with Season 3's classification of MA15+ for "Strong themes, violence, sex and coarse language").

The fact that the running time of the classification listing for From Z to A is only 9 hours would not factor in seasons 1, 2, 3 and the previously released bonus features (which had already been classified as The Entire Mystery, which cites a running time of over 42 hours), in addition to the 6 additional hours of new bonus material in the From Z to A set, so it stands to reason that the From Z to A classification listing covers only the additional material exclusive to the From Z to A set.

I don't want to be rude, but frankly, I am quite fed up with having to explain effectively the same thing ad nauseum. You seem adamant on getting the final word in even though you seem to have little understanding of the cited classification decisions/process and no facts to add to the conversation other than the fact that The Television Collection is also being released locally. I have already covered everything that had to be said in my prior posts, but I do not appreciate misinformation being spread when I have cited the facts, with my hypotheses justified with evidence as opposed to baseless speculation/doubts. My sole intention was to provide information that may be of interest, not carry on repeating myself like a broken record due to baseless doubts and being falsely attributed to having said things that I have not (which is quite a disrespectful thing to do). I do not make a habit of talking out of my backside, so if I cannot back myself up with evidence, I would have remained silent.

From Z to A will include over 6 hours of new special features (in addition to everything from past releases), so the question remains as to whether fans think it's worthwhile to grab this updated set.

I feel stupid now for buying Season 3 on Blu-ray (hoping that I could procure The Entire Mystery; I didn't buy it at the time of its release as I was between jobs).

Meanwhile others are holding out for a complete UHD release. Multiple disc UHD sets are rare, likely due to the relatively high cost of the discs and substantially lower sales when compared to regular Blu-ray and especially DVD (which infuriatingly reigns supreme). I would expect UHD to pick up a little more steam when the PS5 is released, which will use UHD discs for games.

complete misrepresentation of what I posted

this was my post;

"This may be for the set that is listed on Sanity for release on December the 11th-The Television Collection- it is listed as 16 discs and does not include the film "Fire Walk with Me", whereas the Z to A boxset is listed with 21 discs including the film. The 3 TV series are rated M and MA15+, the film is R18+."

never did I say you were wrong, the oflc or runtimes were wrong my only intention was to provide information that there was a release with just the tv series coming out also.

what ever you rambled on about after that was complete rubbish directed at me for not understanding something you were ie:"classification decisions/process". Never said I did

enjoy your weekend.

I just noticed JB has a listing for season 8 of Game of Thrones on blu ray which says JB Exclusive, the picture kind of indicates its like previous seasons and comes in a slip case, hoping this does!
I have all the first 7 seasons from JB exclusive editions with slipcase and bonus disc on each, would be good to complete the set as such...
Only season 1 stands out a little as the slipcase is a bit bigger on that one to allow for the photo book, but I can live with that just want a slipcase and any bonus discs again.

It looks like JB have lifted their price by $15 for the Daniel Craig 4K Bond Collection, it's now $79.98 on their site. Sanity still have it listed for $64.99, so I might pre-order with them, in case their price goes up too. I wish Amazon.au would hurry up and list it (they often lag behind for pre-order listings), so we know what they are going to charge for it.

I certainly can't find any evidence of it. Looks rather interesting too, I might have to shell out the big bucks for the US release

Is Cancelled/Super limited release/Is this real? What a mystery meant for stuff you have an interest in? I know a few you are lacking there.

Yeah it's just stuff that I wish wasn't cancelled or can't find much evidence of existing. I know that Arrival 4K, One Eyed Jacks and Andrei Rublev have releases elsewhere, just wish that those particular ones had come out

I just wish I could mute Isle of Dogs 4K from the upgrade to 4K page (or at least just have one unreleased entry and not two).

Maybe they're taking over some of Roadshow's inventory since Roadshow apparently decided they hate releasing stuff. Would be nice if they went back to distributing Lionsgate, then we might actually get local releases of some of their 4K catalog titles...

similar thing happened with Passengers last year and now EOnes distribution now being handled by Universal Sony... Home Entertainment, instead of Fox. Shame as I feel Fox might've released If Beale Street Could Talk down here and Old Man & the Gun.
