So just to have this clarified, do these UK editions exist? :
A) Collector's edition. 6-discs containing: 1. 4K Final Cut 2. 4K Theatrical + Redux 3. Blu-ray Final Cut 4. Blu-ray Theatrical + Redux 5. Blu-ray Extras / Special Features 6. Blu-ray Heart of darkness B) 3 disc edition, containing 1, 5, 6 from A). C) 4 disc edition, containing 1, 2, 5, 6 from A). Is this correct? Or does the C) edition not exist? |

....as a follow up to above question I too am wondering where to buy the Theatrical Cut on 4K...is there a mysterious 4 disc set in the UK with 2 x 4K discs and 2 x blurays?
Or was this 4 disc version the steelbook edition that Zavvi had and is now out of stock?... |

Since the Theatrical 4K version is the one everyone seems to prefer it seems ridiculous that it is not available to buy anymore in the UK? (sorry do not know what any of the blurays may contain- I am only interested in owning the Theatrical Cut in 4K without having to pay a lot for it ![]() |

The 4-disc UK release seems uncertain if it actually exists. Haven't seen it sold anywhere. Only mentioned in this thread in this post by someone else. Not sure if that was blu-ray only though, or actually 4K?
If it does not exist, then it means there effectively is no UK release which has redux and theatrical in 4K long-term available. Only the 3 disc final cut is still sold in volume. The 6 disc collector's edition is out-of-print/stock almost everywhere. Only a few copies seem to exist in some stores, sold at a hefty markup. So if someone wants theatrical or redux in 4K, the only option is to import the US release 6 disc release. Or buy the currently much more expensive UK collector's edition (if even possible to get hold of). Or wait for it to be re-reprinted, so the price goes down. Or wait for a completely new release. Phew... |

If you're after all six Apocalypse Now discs, just import from the USA. The discs are not only region free, but they're practically identical to the UK discs. |

UK and US are indeed identical but StudioCanal did their own encode for ze German edition (UK StudioCanal is a direct port of the Lionsgate) and le French is from a different distributor entirely in the form of Pathé.

If anyone has the UK 6 discer and wants to part with it. I bought the SteelBook and the 4K disc for the theatrical/Redux is FUBAR. Locks up. I don't know if StudioCanal would replace this disc given it's OOP. This is what I got for opening it two years later. I just want Studio Canal discs in the StudioCanal case, not Lionsgate mix.

Breakdown of the Italian 4Kult Prestige 3-Movie Collection set:
The bitrates for the Final Cut and Redux seem roughly parallel to their analogies on the StudioCanal release, but the Theatrical Cut seems to average around 15 Mbps higher than it does on the earlier release. Compression looks every bit at the same level as the SC, though I’ll leave it to the disc rippers and caps-a-holics of the world to do the finer pixel peeping. Regarding the problematic Do Lung bridge line, the dialogue on these discs is confirmed as follows: Final Cut and Redux: “See if I can find some fuel. Get some information.” Theatrical: “I gotta find somebody. I need some information.” No English subs. I got #929 out of 1,000. Amazon.it shipped it like it was a box of Kleenex, God hate ‘em. ![]() ![]() Last edited by Filmmaker; 10-26-2024 at 12:57 AM. |

Anyone who has this UK version
https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Apoca...y/252509/#News Could you confirm the blu-ray discs are Region B locked? Some places list this as Region free but it's hard to tell if they mean the 4k only or all the discs. Thanks! |

Bit of a long shot, does anyone have the German 4-disc release and have any problems? Neither UHD disc will load in my Panasonic 424. I've reset (soft and hard) but nothing. Plays fine in my Sony X700 but being a BD-100, I don't want to watch it for it to freeze up halfway through, as will most likely happen.
