Attribution correction/update. I’ve just been informed that Vincent Teoh is a 3rd contributor (congrats) to the SMPTE conf presentation first described here last August - https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...p#post16745561 and reminded to folks at the top of this page.
Speaking displays, few realize that off axis viewing of the BVM X300 - as calibrated by Sony engineers ![]() exhibits a magenta shift whereas the BVM-HX310 does not. Later, as it’s ridin time ![]() Work hard, play hard. |

Good ride, lots of fun and nobody got hurt. Now time to put the feet up and get ready to watch the Ravens v. the Seahawks, then later the recording of ManU v. Liverpool ŕ la Brit football.
Meanwhile, I’ve been asked to give this a kick, so, so be it - https://www.kickstarter.com/projects...letop%20Gaming looks a lot more intriguing than the vintage board games I must say. |

We briefly mentioned Marty Scorsese's take on Marvel flicks before.
Now we can add Francis Coppola's own take. • https://collider.com/francis-ford-co...vies-comments/ Another old fashioned film director, living in the past and forgetting that today money is more important than true art. Only the leather skins are stuck; new skins are velouté and soft as baby skin. C'est la vie dans le milieu du cinéma 2019 et au-delŕ...la poursuite du "High $$$ ... $3 billion plus". Art is Roma, Cold War, Lawrence, 2001, Charlie, Godfather, Apocaslyse, Godfellaws, Irishman, Kane, Wind Gone, Blade 2049, LOTR, Labyrinth, Casa... Money is Disney, Marvel, Avengers, the Batman, the Joker, Harry Potter, Star Wars, 4K, HDR, 8K, ... Scorsese and Coppola are filmmakers, not moneymakers. They are art directors not cash registers. Of course it's my opinion and can be contested ... And it sure won't stop me of voting comes tomorrow ... oscars and all that Froot Loops Kellogg's cereals ... Give the guy a camera and see what he does with it, forget the computer and fake effects. |

The discrepancy between what was seen with the Sony engineers’ calibrated HX-310 setup at the pictured professional venue (brightness drop with off-axis viewing indeed, but no color shift) to that of what Vincent T. experienced (yellow tint color shift with off-axis viewing) possibly could be related to the fact that at the former the HX-310 was fed a more pristine source, namely 12 bit 4:4:4 RGB 4096 × 2160 resolution at D65 white point, 2.6 or PQ OOTF as compared to the source Vincent fed his monitor. |

As an aside, I think that even the most fervent haters of HFR for movies will have to concede that the underwater footage in Gemini Man looks superb as compared to traditional frame rates. That fact alone should serve as a wakeup call to producers of future underwater intensive motion pictures if they desire to reach for the highest quality bar. |
