I already had the Best Buy 4K steelbook with the same cut so basically just wasted $25 to have the UK version shipped to the US. I mostly based the decision to import the UK version on the listing here that (correct me if I'm wrong) used to say 1 movie, 2 cuts...and no longer does. Wish I'd caught that change in time to cancel my order.
Yeah the UHD is the U.S. cut in every country. That's why I'm still hanging onto the old U.K. BD as well.

It's been discussed extensively since at least May, yes.

Has anyone else experienced this?
Sounds like it might be TV dimming. I get that sometimes when I'm really attentive and eye strained at night, and notice more things like motion judder, bloom, hot whites, thin/crushed blacks and dimming hiccups. Come to think of it, any time two people are sitting at a table, near a lit window, with lots of lingering face shots and cuts between the two subjects of conversation, where one might have more window behind them and the other might have more wall... the TV tends to perk up, then take a second to perk down, or try to maintain peak brightness, then decide it's tired etc. Rare these days, but I encountered it more often in year 1 with different players and older TV firmware.

That's exactly what's happening on my TV in the scene.

It'll dim whenever the camera is on Ullman and whenever it cuts back to Jack, it brightens up again.

I'm going to try fiddling with my tone mapping and see if it fixes it.

Originally Warner Bros. issues studio art that said it had two cuts, but that banner was reused from another release's template. Not sure if our UK press release mentioned both cuts or retailers just went with the information from the banner.

Shame we don't have both options, but Warner Bros. seem to be making a concerted effort to make the domestic cut the worldwide cut from now on. Luckily we've got the BDs to watch.

Played it on my X700 today...
Audio drifted more and more out of sync, until it froze when Wendy goes through Jack's writings. Stopped the disc, and put it back in and resumed the movie, now the audio was in sync, but slowly drifted again until the movie ended...

First time ever experiencing a freeze, and first time experiencing audio sync issues.

Is it true the digital copy does not redeem in 4K?

Why would you want a shorter cut?

If you see it on any other content there is a chance that it’s an issue that LG will fix. The 8 series last year had a luminance delay in HDR similar to what you describe. LG fixed it and I haven’t noticed it on my C8 since. It’s possible that the 9 series also has this bug.

Go to 13:40 in this video and let me know if this is similar to what you see. If it is LG will definitely take care of it.

Apple TV showed the Dolby Vision 4k version and Vudu showed up as UHD so it does redeem in 4k.

Yup that's exactly what I'm getting on my TV. Hopefully LG will address this at some point.

Thank you for the video.

Just figured I’d add my sync experience to the party. On my Oppo UDP 203 it starts to drift sync during the scene when Wendy asks Jack to leave in their apartment. It continues to drift a bit then goes back in sync a few minutes later. I tried playing it over and over to see if it went away and it didn’t. However if I bypass the Dolby Vision and force the movie to play in HDR10 it stays in sync. Not sure what this means but it could be an issue with the Dolby Vision. Ugh.

I get this too on my B7. How do I get LG to fix it?

I was watching with Dolby Vision as well. I may give it a test spin without DV turned on and see if that fixes it.

Sadly there's no way at the moment. We have to wait for a firmware update.

I had the same freezing\pixellation issue at the same spot on my Sony X800. Maybe at a layer change? I didnt notice any sync issues, but I was not actively looking for it. I was too wrapped in how gorgeous this disc looks. I chapter skipped back to the scene before and no more skipping. First disc to do this out of the 50 or so that I have watched. This is definitely a top 5 disc of the year and the audio was a nice surprise. Powerful stuff. Please do Amadeus next Warner!
