Default Did Warner Brothers just abandon iTunes users?

I searched for this, but nothing came up. A thousand pardons if it's already posted.

My question: so Amadeus' digital copy is not compatible with iTunes, ergo, not compatible with my iPod Touch. Same with A History of Violence and A Time to Kill...

Did Warners abandon us? Or, can we use the DC code to redeem on iTunes, like I had to do with Pineapple Express?

If they did abandon us, I'll be pretty pissed. I mean, I'd really like to have the 1989 Batman on my iPod for traveling, but I'm not sure I'll even buy it if it's not compatible with my hardware.

Heh. Hardware.

Anyway. Anyone know if it's just a few titles, or all future releases? Or am I missing something?

Since you seem more interested in the digital copy any, why waste money on the Blu-Ray? Just buy the DVD and rip it for your iPod.

Nice assumption, but that's not the case. I'm interested in both. Blows your mind, right? Also, I'm not going to illegally rip a movie, and I'm not buying the movie twice.

+1. Digital Copies FTW, and anyone who doesn't think so obviously doesn't have an iPod or Zune.

As for the issue at hand, Warner's all over the map on their DCs. TDK is iTUnes compatible, but many others aren't. I don't get it either.

So far I've gotten 4 digital copies titles from Warners, 2 of which were itunes and 2 which weren't (at least not on the discs). And as I'm a Mac user, I couldn't even get the Windows Media one and try to convert it. But with the two that weren't itunes compatible, I found 2 very different solutions and here's my stories of how they worked (both of which had a positive result on my accounts).

Speed Racer: Issue was solved very simply as when you go to Warners' Digital Copy support page, there was a link that where you would enter the code on the insert you got and they emailed you a link to the file in itunes.

Fred Claus: I had to email their support team a couple of times, but I think I found the golden solution that could be done only once and with whatever title. Basically in the message that finally got through, I mentioned how on the case when I bought it, there was a sticker confirming Mac/ iTunes compatibility, and that the disc was PC only, then I went on to express how I was disappointed in them with this mistake, and suggested that I would be happy if they maybe sent me a link to a free itunes download of the movie. Within a day or so, got an email (from itunes) saying that I was given a gift from Warner Home Video that had a link to the download. So, that should work, especially if the case had a similar sticker (which seems to be a generic one that on all Warner Digital Copy titles).

Hopefully these stories help, and hopefully you might get your digital copy. And, thankfully it appears that all future digital copies (no matter which studio), will be itunes compatible as there's now new standards in place (which appear in the form of that shiny logo we see on the cases or stickers on digital copy titles).

It is obviously a licensing or cost issue for Warner Bros. to make regarding which service they use. Every decision they make regarding Blu-ray always involves the bottom-line, not common sense.
