Watching his films, you can't help seeing. He had fun making them. Not caring, implies Mel did what amused him. No more, no less. My question is: was he fearless or messing around?

Not giving a damn isn't exactly courage.

So was Mel fearless, indifferent, a genius, or all of the above?
