Problems playing certain BD!! - Blu-ray Forum

I am having troubles playing Madagascar 2 and Pan's Labyrinth. On Madagascar 2 right after the previews the PS3 freezes. On Pan's Labyrinth if I select watching the directors prologue, it freezes. Once it freezes, the only thing I can do is eject the disk. Nothing else works on the controller or the PS3. I have turn the PS3 with the main power switch in the back.

I have several other BD's and games, and I have no problems with them. I have the limited edition 80gb that came with Metal Gear Solid 4. I have the latest firmware update. And I have my PS3 hooked up to my yamaha rxv-1800 receiver, which is hooked up to an infocus 1710 projector.

I have tried turning off internet connections, but it still freezes in the exact same spots. I have tried restarting several times with the same outcome. I seems weird that is only certain Blu-Rays.

Anyone have similar issues, or know how to fix the issue?

It could possible be the disc. For example, the 3rd Harry Potter film I had would freeze approximately 1 hour and 6 minutes into the movie at the exact same spot. The only way to get around this was to call Warner Bros and they sent me a replacement disc.

Thanks for the quick reply. I am going to try and exchange madagascar 2 for a new one, it's only 3 weeks old. On Pan's Labyrinth at least I can watch the movie, just not the director's prologue. But I will try and call New Line Cinema and get a replacement disk.
