Again. Stranger Things is Netflix’s most popular IP. You have no reason why they would simply decide to stop releasing physical discs for this series. That’s a poor business making decision.
See you in the Season 3 thread when it’s released on 4K next Fall ![]() |

They keep talking about how they're losing subscribers and aren't getting new ones like they want, they could see dropping physical media as if people want to see Stranger Things, they'll stay subscribed.

Netflix announced more than 64 million households watched Stranger Things 3. Doesn’t sound like losing subscribers to me. Either way, I for one would hope to see a physical release. That is all. I don’t need Debbie Downers (not you) crushing my dreams lol. |

I hope we get it too, and we shouldn't be worried until probably next fall, but you know excuses studios spout, if that many people watched it on Netflix then that could be their reasoning to not do disc to force people to only be able to watch it on Netflix. |

Netflix is fine. No doubt though that many people have watched most of the programming and paused their subs, plus many people do account sharing. It will definitely be interesting when subscriptions fall enough to the point where giant mergers in streaming start happening. Profits above all else, and all that.

I am pondering whether I should get season 2 or not.
I liked the powerful girl most of all in season 1, overall the characters were largely fine, but it was a bit too graphic for my taste. Is season 2 even more graphic and darker, the same of less? Wikipedia says more. Please advise. |

A lot of vomit inducing imagery and gore for sure. |

There have been more "graphic" imagery in a PG rated Raiders of the Lost Ark (rotten mummies, spikes through a head, shredding by airplane blade, head melting and/or exploding, etc.) or PG-13 horror films than Stranger Things. It's fairly tame by comparison. I would say Seasons 2 and 3 are about the same. Sure, when someone gets attacked by the creatures there will be some blood, but most of the gore and actual killings are left offscreen. It's not like the Texas Chainsaw Massacre or Dawn of the Dead other "buckets of blood" gore-fests like that. It's more about the atmosphere and the slime. Had to buy mine through an online third-party since Target was out of stock both physical & online for such a long time.

I picked up this set from a seller on eBay. It was brand new and still sealed with the Target sticker, so I have no doubt that it's legit. I also have Season 1 as well, which I obtained for like five bucks from a seller on Amazon.
Anyway, while watching Season 2, I notice that if I select a specific episode, it doesn't kick into HDR. The main menu is in HDR, but if I select an episode, it doesn't show it in HDR (so it looks all muddy). If I reset my Panasonic 820 and fire the disc up again, I can get HDR - but I have to select "Play All" and then skip to whatever episode that I want. It's very strange. I was trying to figure out if it's a glitch with my A9G or my Panasonic UB820 player, but I'm pretty sure it's a disc quirk, as I've never had it happen with any other discs that I own. Someone suggested that it might be a bootleg copy, but I don't think that's the case. Very odd. Has anyone else had this happen? |

Yeah. I found that by switching inputs on my AVR to something else and then back to my BD player, it then kicks into HDR. Just some kind of weird quirk, but it's similar to issues I've read people experience with Planet Earth II's disc.
