I tend to buy box lots of dvd - for me it's a better deal since I'm interested in a lot of animated and tv series titles.

In the last year I've had S1 of 24 three times now! - no demand and lots of availability = vast supplies with little to no resell value.

Dexter, Sex in the City, earlier US 's Office, S1-3 Walking Dead are ones I get stuck taking regularly.

Since they have little value - I just give them away, or donate, or save the cases and scrap or box lot for crafts the discs.

Hey, thanks for the reply. Interesting to read how frequently you're finding 24 season 1 in these sets.
How often would you find a DVD in one of these bundles still in it's plastic wrap?
I'm slightly surprised about Sex and the City, I would have thought that series would have been sentimental for some and might have been rewatched a bit more than other sets. Are there any other trends you have observed amongst these bundles?

The only 'still in original plastic' either came from book (library, church) sales - the only titles that I've picked up since summer has been S1-2 of 'Lois Clark' (1993-7) $1 each, and 'Smallville" S1-3, $4 for all.

As to bundles, it's occasionally still in plastic, but nothing that I can recall stands out, usually it's just random forgettable titles.

"Sex in the City' was very popular with US troops in the early days of the 2nd Gulf war etc and has seen a couple 'complete' series releases. I suspect it lost its relevancy.

The only things that come to mind is the amount of unwanted Harry Potter, Twilight, and Shrek dvds that I dump.

My bet would be that most people have switched to streaming and have moved on from physical media. It's not a popular opinion here, but we are at the end of the era disc based formats.
