Ignoring the CG I really liked that scene. It begins the movie showing us a Superman that brings hope. Something a lot of people have felt was missing from the DCEU. As much as the CGI sucks, and I don't agree with all of Whedon's decisions, I think a lot of the way he changed the way Superman was handled was a good idea.

OMFG I will be so stoked if this is this actually happens. The Joss Whedon additions to the movie were by far my least favorite parts and I'm admittedly not the biggest fan of Snyder, but I do really like BvS and believe he has the right to have his singular vision shown.

And since then comicbookmovie.com has an article by the showrunner for the Watchmen TV series where he says he's seen the Snyder cut.
There seems to be an awful lot of people choosing to comment on it right now I guess the talk of a Snyder cut being released is snowballing whether it's truly happening or not.
I find it really strange that even people who don't like the movie and don't expect to like the Snyder version of the movie still would not like to see a movie restored to its original intent.
I think movies that get a chance to be restored to something even close to the director's original Vision are one of the most fascinating things that can happen.

I notice a lot of people seem to have misunderstood Snyder's words about the darker Justice League he originally planned. That isn't what he filmed. What he filmed was always the lighter take the studio asked for. What he's referring to is an earlier draft of the story he had around the time BvS came out. After there was backlash to BvS, the studio demanded changes, and by the time Snyder began filming, they had already scrapped that story and went with something lighter in tone. No, maybe not quite the same as what we got (I think the color grading changed the tone considerably) but many of the jokes and lighter moments in there were from Snyder, not all from Whedon. If you watch the original Comic Con footage, you'll know what I mean.

I think what happened, is when Snyder left, the studio saw that as an opportunity to really lean into that concept of a lighter Justice League. The foundation was already there with Snyder's footage, but Snyder doesn't have the greatest ability to write in that style, so they wanted someone more experienced with that, so they went with Joss. Supposedly, Joss was already even working on some material in collaboration with Snyder before he left.

That being said, I think the biggest cause of the trouble with the cut is WB. Whedon's original cut would have been longer and incorporated much more Snyder, and WB made him trim it down. Also, WB should have delayed the movie to give post production adequate time to deal with the new footage properly and they didn't. Beyond that, the change in color grading and music completely changed the "feel" of the movie. Even with Whedon's footage, if the original color grade and music had remained, it would have felt closer to Snyder's vision as well.

I would think that WB likes to make money. Why not release the Snyder-cut in the theaters and try to add some dollars?

I don't know, the VFX budget needed to do a Synder Cut justice would be very high.

It's not happening anytime soon, if at all. WB/DC has a bright future ahead with the movies on their slate. The last thing they wanna do is remind people of their biggest failure.

I hated JL with a passion but if they released a Snyder Cut I would get it. Morbid curiosity.
Also, the Whedon bits (you can tell as the humor is forced or it's overly optimistic) are the parts of JL I hated.

Considering tons of Snyder Cut scenes have been released and were all finished thats a very tuff call. Based off all the hype for it there is a chance they could get away with 20m for the cut which if they marketed it as the Snyder cut directors original vision before the studio heads interfered they could probably make the money back easy.
